Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

Holly doesn’t understand “grass is greenest on the forbidden side of the fence”–which applies to Alix (she forbids boys, ergo she’s desirable).

Burgundy2 says:
Tabbylynn, I just wanted to express my admiration for your attitude. When Margueritem expressed concern regarding your eating habits, many people would have had a “none of your business” attitude. You’ve shown maturity and insightfulness to recognize her concern for what it was and appreciate it. I can guarantee that your maturity and insightfulness will put you in good stead for your future endeavours. Good Luck.
thank you.:) i was raised right my dad taught my brother and myself to be respectiful and i saw and understood what marg. was saying.

tabbylynn says: i want to be a teacher. :D i want to teach 1,2 or 3rd grade no higher to much drama. haha.
I lived in Louisiana for a few years with the Military and loved my time there. It was definitely an improvement from my current situation (back home in New York City). You’ll make a Great Teacher, hands down. Remember, Teachers are the people kids remember most. (P.S.- Thank You Ms. Demontae, wherever you are!!)
thanks i hope i do make a great teacher, i am greatful for all my teachers all of them even the ones i did not care for.
