Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

Sage and cream - that’s what’s in and that’s what looks best under even icky lighting.

I love, love, love the “white and pale green” colour scheme favoured by contemporary French decor but I cannot help but think of the impracticalities of basic maintenance!

Could always go with the retro, avacado green, 70’s flashbacks!

The males in my household refuse to accept that “sage”, “lime”, “celery”, etc. are color names. My hubby says there are only 8 colors - the ones in the small crayon box.

That’s how men think. No shades of colour which makes life more interesting. But you better choose a colour scheme Joan so Wally can get to work. Don’t even remind me of that hideous avacado green from the 70’s gak how I hated that colour!

Joan and Wally, check out this: Adobe photoshop colour picker delivers….#8EFCD7
Some would call it Mint Green.
Or see… Pantone Mint Green which is a most delightful colour to be sure.

Macushlalondra:
I very much agree with your appraisal of Avocado green.
