“absence” = “out to lunch” in the language of the fanatic?

When I was in school, I had a teacher who said,

‘If Jesus were walking the earth today, he’d say “Father, save me from the Christians” ’

    Great cartoon.

anyone who thinks that the catholic church speaks for christ has gotta have a few screws loose.

Neither do you. And the Catholic Church, whatever I think of it in other aspects, has well and truly gone off the rails here. I’m still waiting for proper penance regarding their unbelievable sins of covering up and promoting vast amounts of pederasty all over the world.

Would their penance be cashing in all of the Vatican treasure and saving the €uro and Western Civilization?

Dem Libs continue their relentless attack on Religion. Excluded is their Green Religion.

And your religion is what? Attacking “Dem Libs”?

Eddie should listen to the NPR story today about the minister who became an atheist. Seems that she couldn’t work her way past the contradictory B.S. Of course, she wasn’t part of the utterly infallible true church of Mel Gibson’s dad.

Liberals and religion should not mix.

Not really, most anything can be a religion. Worshiping an imaginary deity is a bit koo koo. The real problem is the continuous misinterpretation of what Jesus said. He actually said not one work about homosexuality, and by stretching some word in the Bible, he actually found homosexuality to be quite acceptable. Also, his message seems to be lost on some of his devout followers, I point to Fred Phelps as an example. Jesus called us to associate and accept as humans criminals, prostitutes, tax collectors and other traditionally thought of as bad. Go check the bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John to see if that isn’t true.

PS, I’m an atheist. I do believe that Jesus really was on earth of 33 years and was cruelly executed by the Romans. The father, son and holy ghost are a bit hard to accept.

You can believe what ever you damn well please. Just remember that your rights end where mine begin. Forcing others to live by your viewpoint isn’t Christian and neither is most of the BS you believe in.

Problems with this approach. First, homosexuality is spoken against in the Bible in both old and new testaments, and Christ is The Word. We also do not know everything he specifically touched on in his earthly ministry. I would say that at best this is an argument from silence, but again with the Bible being clear on the matter, it is not even that. Second, Christ did not speak on every possible wrong specifically. He did not, for instance, speak specifically on child molestation. By this argument he therefore would have considered that behavior also to be just fine, which is obviously absurd.

Hey Doc! Glad to see you.

Do you really think that the man Jesus did not exist or do you think the religion that was formed after his death is all fiction?
