    Since when did Rand Paul become the face of the Tea Party? No one (nationally) even heard of him a month or so ago.

    I thought the face of the Tea Party was Glenn Beck… or Sarah Palin… or Dick Armey… or… The Entire Fox News Network… or…

    You forgot MN governor Timmy “Tpaw” Pawlenty. He’s desperate to get/keep his face on the Tea Party radar. Hell, he spends more time on the Tea Party than he does doing his job.

    No one had ever heard of Sarah Palin before she burst out onto center stage either. Come to think of it, I hadn’t heard of Glen Beck before last year.

    it’s kind of alarming (or would be to the GOP) that such poor decisions are being made about which newbie should be representing them. and they’re pretty fickle - rush, a few oreillys and becks, a hannity or palin, a biker, a banker, a racist, a cranker, a ron paul, a rand paul, a hard sell, a death knell - oh sorry i got carried away

    Rand Paul is a clean, articulate, bright - white boy …to paraphrase the intellectual giant of the left.

    Rand proved that he is not a politician, and certainly not a shyster …, both of which traits make him a particularly attractive choice for the US Senate.

    I rather doubt that will happen. Good for them if they can, but I’m rather sceptic we will see it develop like that.

    Señor Bruce I use this term since every American movie has us Mexicans depicted as calling you guys this. Plus its a lot better than some of the terms people here use to describe Caucasians. Never would I stoop so low as to use racist remarks stronger than that since I’m always the object of redicule with your counterparts.

    I have been discriminated upon physically and mentally with this racist bleeep and I am not about to spread that message in here. If you take offense to that word, I will be more than happy to remove that word…hermano.

    Well, Mexicano, I may have over reacted a tad. I personally don’t take offense at any label. You can call me anything, just don’t call me late to dinner.

    However, if YOU believe that words damage relationships then you should be setting the example in not using them. If we as a society can convince others that such labels are counter-productive to a peaceful environment, that using them -even among our own immediate families- is wrong, then they will eventually disappear from use. Maybe. But it has to start with YOU not using derogatory ethnic slurs no matter how harmless it may seem to you at the time.

    Let your conscience be your guide, my brother.
