No, Churchy, I’m not advocating open borders, I’m advocating empathy. I’m admitting the ease in my being able to migrate multiple times, despite them being mostly in reaction to or in the face of some adversity, has been purely to accident of birth. The adversity I faced, and avoided, is nothing compared to what some of these migrants face. I consider myself fortunate in comparison. Sheer luck has helped me. Most people don’t feel the need to migrate (and most who do don’t really want to anyway) and they’re fortunate that they’re not ‘forced’ by circumstance to migrate.
Your economy has benefited from these unfortunates; it has in fact abused & exploited them. Then you bad-mouth them anyway. Calling them criminals is just silly.. They are simply human beings who wish to improve their lot and that of their family. Their choices are extremly limited. It is called survival. That you begrudge them and call them criminals for doing so is, well, low.
