    For the lame stream the liberal white house propaganda flows both ways. One only feeds the other. My guess he must have gotten that question from the NSA. Must make sure who is towing that party line. They all can not be on Obama’s hate list like FOX and talk radio. Obama is still mad his plan to place monitors in news out lets was turned down.

    isn’t that what happens in dictatorships?

    A dictatorship is when you put protestors behind barbed wire in “Free speech zones”.

    How is this different than how press conferences were handled under the previous President?

    Steve Kelley and Harley got punked! The Drudge Report reported this as though it was news, but it’s a completely false story. No reporters submit their questions in advance to the White House, and the cub reporter who said she did had to retract her story. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2014/03/20/no-reporters-dont-submit-questions-to-the-white-house-in-advance/

    Dictatorship is what you have when the President changes a law without going through congress.

    “Dictatorship is what you have when the President changes a law without going through congress.”

    Say, for example, funding the Sandinistas in direct violation of the Borland Amendment, or trading arms for hostages? America seems to have a history of dictators, does it not?

    The problem for incumbent Democrats is, those didn’t affect 310 million Americans. Obamacare does.

    Now THIS is a good Obama-criticism of an imaginary event; let’s have all the right-wing cartoonists do a bit on this until it becomes fact.

    I understand your point, which is somewhat off the subject from mine. But since you bring it up, I submit that what Mr. Reagan did with the Iranians at the time may have a lot more to do with where we 310 million Americans are in regards to relationships in the Middle East, especially with militant Islamists, than some of us are willing to admit.

    If you like, you can go back to the coup in ‘53. And the Iranian Revolution, the hostage taking, permitting the Shah into the US for medical treatment which really pissed the off, all happened in ’79 under Carter, not Reagan.

    Of course Reagan later backed Iraq in their war against Iran. But still, none of the above affected every American’s pocketbooks. The ACA does.

    Whoops. You know, you shouldn’t draw your funny pictures based on the Drudge Report.

    Thanks for all the helpful comments, I now know that this cartoon is about. My opinion: there SHOULD be an official news channel of/for the government, some kind of “Pravda” paper, some “U.S. Government TV” for the President, whichever party, to talk directly to the people without interfering with other programming. BUT, and that’s very important, it SHOULD NOT be the only one! So if the government just spouts lies and propaganda it will be bashed to bits by the free media. I think that would be a workable solution that benefits all citizens.

    -

    As to putting observers in newsrooms: given what some “news” organizations emit to the public one has to wonder what kind of magic 8-ball they use to determine their “news”. The question for me is: can a government allow people to make up lies and cause panic and negativity among the citizens AND get rich doing so? If the government lies there should be consequences, sure, and there will be, at the ballot box maybe. But if – let say – Fox “News” says there is an asteroid coming to wipe out humanity and the only shelter is some bunker they rent out, that is “free speech”? Yelling “FIRE!” in a crowded theater isn’t, thats for sure, so why are conservative media outlets allowed to basically take down the economy by lying about the administration? I’d call that treason…

    @MortyForTyrant

    Was it treason when the lame stream media were crying that we were in the worst economy since the Great Depression during the 2005 elections, while the unemployment rate was 4.5%?
