Also makes a very good start on summing up Obama’s time in office…

The cartoon lies: costs are not crippling, they’re lower. And no one is losing coverage. They might lose a particular insurance policy (which happened all the time before Obamacare), but they now are guaranteed the ability to buy new insurance in an open marketplace, a guarantee they never had before.

That is stunningly obtuse on your part ARod. Costs are higher, much higher in most cases. Deductables for many people are also far higher.
Don’t state that many people get subsidies for their policy costs. That doesn’t change the cost of the policy only who pays (the individual versus taxpayers).
The ACA “marketplace” is not an open one. All policies offered have to have basically the same coverage with a variable deductable. That gives buyers essentially the same coverage regardless of their individual needs or wants. It also fixes the deductables for a given cost of policy meaning that the end result is that a person will often get a substandard policy in terms of cost, features, and deductable.
That is not “better.” It is government making a bad program and forcing people into it.

After the Tea types tried Death Panels, $3 trillion a year, a $5,000 fine on 15 Dec ‘13 for anyone not enrolled in Obamacare, jail if you don’t have the $5,000, etc., etc., most people believe the Obambots: we all saw Obama say on 1 Oct during the shutdown/slimdown: ‘This woman has a brain tumour and could not afford to see a doctor, but now for less than $100 a month total out-of-pocket cost, she has full access to the best physicians and hospitals.’

Since Obama’s numbers don’t add up, some of us are sceptical, but, in comparison to the Tea lies, Obama’s statements sound more plausible (even if they eventually turn out to be false, as shown by the numbers that will be available in ’17).

Seems to be working just fine in states that aren’t blocked by the Republicans.
