On my last Southwest Airlines flight, there were two passengers who had pre-boarded—a morbidly obese man and his obese wife—and they’d taken the window and aisle seat in the bulkhead, leaving a sliver of space in the middle seat for whichever unlucky passenger might have been the last one on the plane.

That’s why I always try to get on the plane first.

I hate flying Southwest. I always find out last minute that I have to fly, so I am usually one of the last people allowed to board. The first ones always choose the aisle seats, and then give you dirty looks when you have to crawl over them.
