For more than two decades, political cartoonist Steve Kelley has devoted his attention to public officials the way the radiator grille of a tractor-trailer might devote its attention to June bugs. He has delighted readers by consistently consigning office-holders to the one fate they fear most: that of not being taken seriously.

Sooky Rottweiler says:
Dog food is not made of animals, animals are made of dog food; cows and chicken are made of Red Can, while horses are made of Blue Can.

Chick-fil-a is awesome.
I would eat there every day if I could.
No Christian Chicken for me on Sunday.

If Wendell doesn’t eat, no one eats.

The food is good. The leadership — not so much.

Nope, rabbit is much more fatty.
Now Gator Tail has both the consistency and texture of chicken and fried tastes much the same.

It reminds me of the Mormon cricket(a type of wingless catydid) plague of 1848, which threatened the Mormon crops. The crickets cover the ground in swaths like a moving blanket, eating everything(including each other if nothing is available)in their paths. Seagulls came and consumed the crickets, saving some of the pioneers harvest. The Paiutes used to sweep the crickets into a ditch, set the weeds a fire, and have a cricket picnic. They ground the left-over crickets into cricket flour, high in protein. The other chicken, so to speak. The Paiutes look at each other quietly when they hear about the Mormon seagull miracle. Dang, all that good food gone, and only seagull poop left to show for it!

I don’t see why it’s ok to eat some animals (chickens, cows, sheep, pigs) but not others (say, cats, dogs, and horses). No sense raising carnivorous animals for food, but if horses weren’t “pretty,” who’d ACTUALLY have a legitimate problem?

A friend of mine allowed me to taste some turtle eggs when we traveled to Central America (Nicaragua if you must know). Let’s just say I’m never eating turtle eggs again any time soon.

Immediate post WWtwice, horse meat was sold in a shop on NW 7th Ave, Miami FLA. I saw it and Dad bought some…cheaper than beef which was in short supply due to the now non rationed status.

So darn true! Same with the “Save the _____” environmental campaigns. They always put the pretty animals on the posters.
