For more than two decades, political cartoonist Steve Kelley has devoted his attention to public officials the way the radiator grille of a tractor-trailer might devote its attention to June bugs. He has delighted readers by consistently consigning office-holders to the one fate they fear most: that of not being taken seriously.

The Republican party is currently losing about 1% of its voters every year, because they are dying. They are not changing party or voting differently. They are passing away. Joining the choir invisible. This is hard for a party to fix.
The only hope I see for them is to raise their voters from the dead and train the zombies to vote Republican. It should be easy to do. Zombies seem like a natural constituency. They hate government, avoid health care and never pay taxes. It might work.
Just trying to help. (with a tip of the hat to Petronius Jones)

Arms are our business. Maybe our only business these days.

If you recently bought 3,000 rounds of amunition on line, chances are that you’d rather break that ammo up into bunches of 100 than 7. Make sense?

Kelley illustrates the Upsidedown/Backward Brain Obama inherited.
In O’s thinking, considering his known record todate, is reversed on “right” versus “wrong”….IMO.

Cutting US defense but giving $Billions to an open enemy of both Israel and the USA, who have democratic-type governments with citizens’ rights to Liberty and humane respect of life from elected government.
Morsi is 100% Muslim Brotherhood on Global Crusade to re-establish the Caliphate and spread it worldwide by every possible tactic….including violent Jihad. Non-Islamics in Egypt face persecution and prison and possibly death…

why doesn’t a coalition of Constitutional patriots face Obama down on his favoring leaders who support and export terrorism?

In reality, U.S. arms dealers may be even less discriminating than Russia, or Israel. It isn’t always the "big stuff’ that does the most damage, especially in insurgencies and “gorilla” operations.

The ability to manufacture weapons is in and of itself a strategic weapon.

Under the terms of the Camp David Accords of 1978, the U.S. grants subsidies of $2 billion a year to Egypt, and $3 billion a year to Israel. The two countries are obligated to use much of this to purchase the newest US weaponry: M1A1 Abrams tanks, AH-64 Apache gunships and F-16 fighter jets.
The principal condition of the treaty, however, is that Israel and Egypt must remain at peace.
If we renege on our part, the Accords are nullified, and Egypt would be free to attack Israel.
Kelley, some commentors, and apparently Fox News are unaware of our obligations in the Middle East, as John McCain explains here:

So Obama cares more about Americans getting shot than he cares about Egyptians getting shot…..and this is a bad thing?

@corzak
Yep, USA …pusher man. It’s funny that if there was no conflict there would be no need for tanks, gunships and jets.
But we have debts and need to make money.
So make sure both sides have the latest in hi tech weaponry. You just never know what an Egyptian/Israeli may do.
Ya’ll play nice now!!!
(hmmm why couldn’t the deal have been we’ll give you money, you keep the peace between countries and you must spend 70% of the money on improving education/housing/healthcare and 20% on agriculture/green energy research)

disgustedtaxpayer illustrates that you don’t need to know anything at all to have an irrelevant opinion about a complex situation. Hey, let’s just cut the Egyptian army off, and see what they do!!! That would be fun!!! I bet Israel would just find that a chuckle. It’s a very delicate house of cards. And what did y’all say when it was Mubarak getting the weapons? Or is this criticism just since Obama became president?

We need to limit the bullets in your gun, because otherwise you might harm the poor downtrodden bugler who brought two clips with him.

@Gore Bane
You guys are arming buglers now?
I still laugh at the bugler at the start of the Peter Sellars movie, The Party. He was a valid target.
