I thought stoners went for salty snacks rather than sweet. In any case, Hostess management was stupid to not enter niche markets catering to food allergies. I might have bought the occasional box of dairy free Twinkies assuming the carb count was reasonable.

Pretty good chance Steve Kelley’s not a stoner.

Another example of overbearing government regulations killing off business!
    …am I doing this right?

They might be made in Mexico. A baking factory there is looking at it. With the lower costs, especially on sugar, they think it would work.

Get Cheech Marin on some ballot and see the economy roar back to life. “THE MUNCHIES! I GOT THE MUNCHIES!!!”

Hostess was owned by a private equity firm and two hedge funds which were not making enough money to satisfy the greedy executives.

Hostess “bakeries” are the most automated production lines in the country. They’ve been fighting unions for decades. What’s funny is that “Wonder Bread” is worse garbage than Twinkies!!

Not so bad—-however a bit of vitriol and venom added to your declarative absurdity would help…

Study Ima, Howgozit, conservgov, narrowminded, onguard, etc.

Was the “creme filling” actually whipped lard and sugar?

Exactly right. Never cite any specific regulation(s).

    No, worse, hydrogenated shortening.

I haven’t had a Twinkie in decades. HoHo? NoNo. Cup Cakes maybe within decades.
    .
But now I do want one of those orange cupcakes. You can keep the chocolate ones. You can keep the SnowBall one too (I out grew them BEFORE I saw the movie Clerks!)
    .
Devil dogs and Funnybones were good. Until the peanut butter filling in the funnybones stopped tasting like peanut butter.
    .
Somebody was eating them. It just hasn’t been me. My kids never got all excited by them either. And I tried to get them to like them! Once they discovered real Whoopie Pies from Maine, and Entemen’s Chocolate chip cookies from… Entemen’s; Hostess didn’t stand a chance.
