For more than two decades, political cartoonist Steve Kelley has devoted his attention to public officials the way the radiator grille of a tractor-trailer might devote its attention to June bugs. He has delighted readers by consistently consigning office-holders to the one fate they fear most: that of not being taken seriously.

Admiral Hyman Rickover once said: “Great minds discuss Ideas. Average minds discuss Events. Small minds discuss People.”

@Canuck: I don’t blame the media for giving the public what they want. I blame the “mainstream” media for giving the public what the Left wants.

Barnum said: “There’s a sucker born every minute”. and Republicans and the right-wing media prove it. It’s time for Issa, Coburn, Inhofe and a number of others to find the “egress” from Congress. THEY are the ones blowing our security infrastructure.

Just because the public wants it doesn’t mean it needs to be 24/7 coverage. Most would be happy with 5 to 10 mins worth so they can go back to doing something meaningful.

AND will draw attention from it, if he’s not made to be the Administration’s “fall guy”

@Baleine
If they DID go to 5 to 10 minutes, viewship would drop as people changed channels to th 24/7s, and that channel would go broke, would need government funding, and would be criticized by conservatives as being elitist.
It’s been tried.
