For more than two decades, political cartoonist Steve Kelley has devoted his attention to public officials the way the radiator grille of a tractor-trailer might devote its attention to June bugs. He has delighted readers by consistently consigning office-holders to the one fate they fear most: that of not being taken seriously.

The wheels are coming off the cart.

I wonder how many times in history that presidents wish they could distract the populace from their shortcomings.

8 years of shrubster and cheney should give you a really good idea; it is constant.

I gotta say, I don’t know if Obama could ever have enough shortcomings to make voting for Romney look like a viable alternative…

Wall Street’s up. The housing market is up. Gas prices are down.
What’s wrong with that?

But according to my tv and internet, the President doesn’t control any of those things, unless they’re doing poorly…

If you lost your job, sold your car, foreclosed on your house, and cashed out your 401K, then the economy is not rebounding.

Exactly!

Obama’s resignation would be the perfect distraction. Biden wouldn’t have a chance of winning on his own.

But I have my job, bought a car, own my own house and have a growing 401(k). My personal economy is booming. The economy for people that voted for ‘hope and change’ may differ.

Republicans have been practicing “Penn and Teller Politics” since November, 2008. It’s all about distraction, while they pick your pocket, saw the country in half, and eat your rabbit.

Rich Republicans aren’t getting enough tax breaks is what’s wrong with that.

Easy, start a riot, declare marshal law, cancel the election and stay in power.
Would not be surprised if it happened.

“The wheels are coming off the card.”
--Yes, much to the delight of the right-wing, republicans and tea party. That was their goal. They wouldn’t dream of helping the President to keep the wheels on the card an in good working order. Maybe it will back-fire on them, even if they have the most money to waste on the upcoming elections.

For the 1%, it is. Of course, how can they take from the middle class without doing things like that?
