My nephew saw this coming years ago. Iraqi soldiers are illiterate, difficult to train, and not trusting of anyone not Iraqi. As he said to me when he heard ISIS started their campaign: “COLOR ME SURPRISED.” (Sarcasm runs in the family.)

Same can be said of the Afghan soldiers. Strange thing is, when both countries get into trouble – as Iraq is now – they start whining: America, America, come help us!! Then, after America helps them, they start screaming: America? Get OUT or we’ll kill you all!!

I heard about this for the first time this morning, NR. It amazes me that there has been so little effort on the part of world gov’ts to punish the kidnappers of the school girls and woman doctors in Nigeria, as well as this more recent kidnapping and SELLING of the Yazidi women.
While it is true that in the USA, women are treated as less than equal in regard to pay, sexual harassment, job advancement, health care, et al, the actions taken by these extremists is rightly described as a War against these people whose only crime is to have been born female in a part of the world where the patriarchy consider them lesser beings.
It was a liberal new caster who alerted me to this situation, but I’m glad you brought it up too.
    Thank you.

No joke but its not because our Commander n Chief wanted to. Social pressure is the only reason we did anything. This should have happened a very long time ago because We gave our word and it is the right thing to do.

There’s some real flailing here. Trying to connect these wackos to American Conservatives.

    Quite a stretch.

I truly believe we will be treated as liberators.
I truly believe that terrorism in Iraq is in its last throes.
The Yew-nited States and its allies have prevailed.
The war will be over in six weeks, tops.
When the Iraqis stand up, we’ll stand down.
    Shock. and also Awe.
The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.

It could have been much worse. We could have overthrown the Syrian government. That would have made a real mess.

This was predicted when idiots Rumsfeld, Cheney, and their boy Bremer dismembered the Iraqi Army and Police forces, and wiped all Ba’athists from any position to possibly control the situation post-war. The culls they picked up and trained who were “politically and religiously pure enough”, by those “pure enough” in favor with the U.S., were known worthless from the start.

Oh, yes, as to “finally”, all it took was a few Christians being threatened to move the U.S. to action.

Just wanted to point out that Obama wanted to launch airstrikes in Syria, and asked Congress for approval.
