    Thankfully we have the House to slow the insanity of the Senate.

    @Tax Man

    When I think of reasonable people I sure don’t think of the House.

    WHY are you people so eager to pass yet another monster bill (over 1,000 pages and rising) before it has been read? What is hidden in the bill? WHY must it be rushed through? What are the unintended consequences of THIS “key” legislation?

    The people you are so eager to make citizens have broken multiple laws, thumbing their nose at you and your legal system.

    Yeah, perfect examples of prime candidates to improve this country.

    I don’t see the automated machine-gun turrets, or the land mines, or the electrified alligators or whatever it was Herman Cain kept babbling about.

    Yes put a big fence around Boehner’s house.
    Stop the invasion of the orange aliens.

    Why would you limit “The people you are so eager to make citizens have broken multiple laws, thumbing their nose at you and your legal system”. to only the undocumented workers.
    I would be surprised if any of those making these laws have not also broken multiple laws and thumbed their noses at the legal system.

    The bi-partisan Senate Immigration bill is DOA in the Republican House. Boehner explicitly said he will not bring it up for a vote, because they are going to craft their own bill “that reflects the opinion of our majority (pause) and the majority of the American people.”

    The House crafting a bill that reflects the opinion of the majority of the American people.
    Is Boehner that oblivious or does he think we are that dull? That’s a lose/lose question.

    I think at best you will get a bill that reflects the wishes of the tea party and big business interests.

    Anything getting bipartisan support in the Senate will be dead in the water with Boehner and the boneheads in the House that dance mindlessly to his tune. (Well, even that’s breaking down when they can be dumber than Boehner!)

    As to the length of this and other bills, this has gotten totally out of hand with riders, amendments, earmarks, and other obfuscation of really stupid stuff Congress wants to sneak by the public without their knowledge. Which is also what’s increasing the case load for District, Appeals, and SCOTUS courts.

    The Senate passed version of this bill is 1198 pages long. I can only imagine the tens of thousands of pages of regulations that will result.
