    Thankfully we have the House to slow the insanity of the Senate.

    @Tax Man

    When I think of reasonable people I sure don’t think of the House.

    WHY are you people so eager to pass yet another monster bill (over 1,000 pages and rising) before it has been read? What is hidden in the bill? WHY must it be rushed through? What are the unintended consequences of THIS “key” legislation?

    The people you are so eager to make citizens have broken multiple laws, thumbing their nose at you and your legal system.

    Yeah, perfect examples of prime candidates to improve this country.

    I don’t see the automated machine-gun turrets, or the land mines, or the electrified alligators or whatever it was Herman Cain kept babbling about.

    Both are stupid…The House more so than the Senate….
    Walls will NOT stop the flow of people…Even the Conservatives must realize this, even if they have never cracked open a history book…
    Improve the nation….
    get rid of the conservatives….
    As to the “law-breakers”, this…a continuation of working for substandard wages…not that I am happy with this……
    Maybe its best that our Congress do nothing…..
    Then, our entire Congress can be LAID OFF, saving billions are balancing the budget….
    A win-win….

    Yes put a big fence around Boehner’s house.
    Stop the invasion of the orange aliens.

    Why would you limit “The people you are so eager to make citizens have broken multiple laws, thumbing their nose at you and your legal system”. to only the undocumented workers.
    I would be surprised if any of those making these laws have not also broken multiple laws and thumbed their noses at the legal system.

    The bi-partisan Senate Immigration bill is DOA in the Republican House. Boehner explicitly said he will not bring it up for a vote, because they are going to craft their own bill “that reflects the opinion of our majority (pause) and the majority of the American people.”

    @Zuhlamon

    The House crafting a bill that reflects the opinion of the majority of the American people.
    Is Boehner that oblivious or does he think we are that dull? That’s a lose/lose question.

    The House crafting a bill that reflects the opinion of the majority of the American people.
    I think at best you will get a bill that reflects the wishes of the tea party and big business interests.

    Anything getting bipartisan support in the Senate will be dead in the water with Boehner and the boneheads in the House that dance mindlessly to his tune. (Well, even that’s breaking down when they can be dumber than Boehner!)

    As to the length of this and other bills, this has gotten totally out of hand with riders, amendments, earmarks, and other obfuscation of really stupid stuff Congress wants to sneak by the public without their knowledge. Which is also what’s increasing the case load for District, Appeals, and SCOTUS courts.

    The Senate passed version of this bill is 1198 pages long. I can only imagine the tens of thousands of pages of regulations that will result.

    I want a wall built. I want guard towers. I want the US to militarize the border. I want a bill that authorized the use of deadly physical force to prevent unauthorized crossing of the border. I want snipers, I want land mines. I want a one mile wide buffer from our border with mexico and north were every building, every shack, every place that they could hid is bulldozed to bedrock and removed. I want it made clear to Mexico that their citizens will be killed if they cross the border illegally.

    We are told that we cannot deport all the 10-20 million illegals already in the country. I want to find out how many we CAN deport if we try.

    I want a 100,000 dollar a day fine levied against employers who hire illegal undocumented workers. Not knowingly hire, but even if you didn’t know, you get hit with the fine. That will provide an incentive to make dang sure that the people you hire have the legal right to work in the US.

    I want an identity card issued to every one in the US. It will state your name, age, and citizenship status. It will declare if you have the right to work in the US. If you are an alien it will declare your last date of legal departure, so no overstaying of visas. It will declare if you are a convicted felon and if you are eligable to vote in the US. It will have your photograph and biometric data. It will be a death sentence to forge or possess a forged ID.

    I want a constitutional ammendment that states that you are a citizen of the US by birth only if both your parents are legal residents or citizens of the US. Otherwise, you are a citizen of the country of their birth.

    I want every alien in the United States to register their home address every January and to report if they move within three business days.

    I want every town, city, or state that declares itself to be a sanctuary city for illegal aliens to lose every dime of federal funding for itself and its residents. No Medicaid, no medicare, no social security, no student loans, no highway funds, no HHS or Homeland security funding. Not one dime as long as they conspire to protect and harbor those that break our immigration laws.

    I want those that break our immigration laws by entering the country illegally to be forever barred from becoming citizens.

    I want every level of government, schools, hospitals, police departments, socical services, to have an active role in discovering who is illegally in the country and to turn them over to immigration for deportation.

    I want anyone that rents a home, sells a car, offers insurance to be required to check for legal status and to report anyone that is illegal.

    THAT is the kind of immigration legislation I want.
