Not a single iota of anger at the men actually doing the raping, huh? Boys will be boys, they just can’t help themselves, if women don’t want to be raped they should just stay where they belong.
Do you actually know any women?

Rape is caused by male members of a particular political party? And here all this time I thought it was committed by men not able to control their male member.

It’s not even just the women who choose to serve our country who are being assaulted. Just ask anyone from Okinawa what their view about sexual assault by military personnel is.
I went to a college that was a few miles from a small military installment and an airbase. I was a security guard and was escorting soldiers and airmen off our campus every weekend. In their own words, they felt it was their right to get laid on their nights off. I don’t know where the attitude comes from – whether it is picked up after joining, or if that is the type of person the military attracts. More punishment and exposure should change the attitude after a while.

Rape is not a crime of sex. It is a crime of control and power. Until we recognize the psychological underpinnings, we will continue to be “surprised” that this is going on.

I would think it starts with our nationalistic pride in being “the most powerful nation on earth”, moving along through the idea that we have the right to “correct” anything that needs it, regardless of what country it’s in or the circumstances surrounding it, all the way to the idea that we can control people’s thoughts by killing their countrymen.

I hope you watched Fox after the Boston bombings. Hannity was calling for torture. Many others were upset because we didn’t withhold Miranda (ignoring the fact that testimony before Miranda is not admissible in a court of law). And Coulter stated that the dead brother’s wife should be in jail because she wears a headscarf.

Evidently, the ends justify the means. The Founding Fathers would be so proud.

That arm belongs to Commander In Chief 42 who set the behavior example for many to follow!

If a marine wizzed on a dead terrorist’s corpse, headlines blared that it was Bush’s responsibility. How come this isn’t Obama’s responsibility?

Shameful. Heard also that the Air force has been inundated by Christian Dominionists who are attempting to coerce all that do not meet with their approval, including the “wrong” kind of Christians.
