I’ve seen several ads (in video from MSNBC, CBS etc.) that show parents moving really huge boxes of toys around, so big they don’t even fit in the car. I guess “air” is this years gift #1 when you look closely at it, but it’s okay, in a capitalistic society size does matter, right?

Reminds me that Republicans have complained about “only” three percent growth in the recovery of the economy,, when one point eight (1.8%) percent is “average to good”) That “w” sent it negative is conveniently ignored.

Pharmaceutical companies put one pill in an extra-large box, as doctor samples, to occupy(advertise)as much shelf space as possible. Which also keeps more of their competitors product off of the same shelf at the least cost of product.

Morty, since you like to read and criticize, you should dive into the Constitution that Egypt just proposed and see if it suits your governmental style.

No it does not, but then again I’m neither Muslim nor Egyptian. Been there for two weeks on vacation in 2000. Resort-town of Hurghada. Sand-sack barriers with heavy machine-guns on every main corner, platoons of SWAT-members patrolling the airport, security checks to fly out took two hours (pre-9/11!).

Mubarak knew that the extremists would not refrain from killing innocent tourists, therefor causing huge economic losses. Will they disassemble these roadblocks under Mursi? With only ~64% of the votes for the new constitution and severe doubts about the legality of the whole process I fear this level of “security” will remain there.

But getting back to the USA and so-called security: why is it that YOU guys surrender to the TSA stormtroopers or accept that you are on a no-fly-list and nothing can be done about it? Where is that to be found in the U.S. Constitution? I have some issues with Ron Paul (abortion) but his hit against the NRA and their idea of placing cops in every school was a good rant, based on the founding principles of the nation. This guy really loves his liberties…

Last point: I live in a country some people would call socialist simply because they don’t know what the word really means (and we know, we absorbed a real socialist country). You know who the first socialist was? Jesus Christ of Nazareth! He called for helping the poor, feeding the hungry, caring for the sick and always praying in private. So he obviously was also waging the war on Christmas and would be totally unacceptable to join todays Republican party :-)

Merry Christmas to you all!
