One decision doesn’t make Obama and Roberts buddies.

What I find so terribly amusing is all the uneducated and misinformed conservatives claiming to know more about constitutional law than your supreme court judges do! Screaming bloody murder that Roberts has misinterpreted the Constitution and must now be impeached for having done so.

Turns out that Obama (the constitutional scholar) and Romney (before he flipped) had it right all along. And the vast majority of legal scholars who knew that it was clearly constitutional. The troubling bit is the four justices for whom party loyalty trumps legal argument.

WOO-HOO!
Well, at least one conservative on the court can see past party loyalty.
Again, WOO-HOO!

The flashback from conswervatives is hilarious, Swirlyisms abound! But, even if it is a “tax”, would your rather pay $100, or $68,000 for a single Hellfire missile, to kill someone, you never met, and who has no desire to meet, or harm you, he just wants you out of his country?

Traditionally, individual insurance policies cover nothing. I read the fine print, and saw that I would be spending $500 a month for nothing (this was back in ‘80), and declined the policy.
The ACA says insurance MUST cover some things formerly excluded, and EVERYONE must have insurance or be heavily ’taxed’.
Will the net be a massive windfall to the insurance companies, or a massive burden?
No one was sure until the Supreme Court told us: it will be a windfall!

Some person named Savage blamed Justice Roberts’ switch on epilepsy medication. I knew these nut jobs were basically and irredeemably nuts, but that is a new one.

That is true, but Roberts is the one conservative on the bench who hasn’t been actually disrespectful of President Obama.

It is a tax. That is for sure.

What a foolish cartoon…Roberts has hardly become a ‘buddy’ and his nonsensical ploy makes his ‘buddy’ status even less so. The insurance mandate is as valid under the Commerce Clause of the Constitution as is mandatory car insurance…which I haven’t seen anybody yet challenge. Roberts’ little sleight of hand calling the penalty part of the mandate a ‘tax’ was a calculated gift to his right wing supporters. So, what Roberts did was nothing more than a lie. Even while he certainly knew that the mandate is constitutional, he made up a false reason for his vote. And his lie will now become cheap fodder through the election.

Obama, ABC News, Sept 20, 2009: “The Mandate is absulutely NOT a tax…”
Yup, Constitutional scholar Obama was right all along. /sarc

Sen. Rand Paul:
“ObamaCare Isn’t Constitutional just because a couple people on the Supreme Court’ say so.”
Hilarious.
