    You can’t win ‘em all.

  2. Ken Warren

Ken Warren said, 15 days ago

One way to win is to never admit you lost. The Republicans just ignored 2008, just kept attacking everything, made no effort to work with the Democrats, kept their based strirred up with “Death Panels”, “Socialism”, and never admitted that anything bad that happened in the last 8 years was their fault.

So it is easy for them to crow about a couple of wins and declare they are now the Party Of Destiny of that the American Public hates the Democrats.

The sad thing is that the Democrats let them get away with all of this, and it will turn out to be true unless the Democrats get a backbone and start using their majority for action.

Death Panels still in the Bill the last I heard. Should we conservatives take it as an insult how you misrepresent the argument? You know as well as I do , somewhere at sometime , someONE is going to have to decide what care will be rationed. It happens in England and it will certainly happen here. I’ve had enough - see you later.

    ^^^ You’re trolling…

    Yup

This ScottFreitas has a membership number 327288 from since July 30, 2009 and if you note, there is an accent on the í (which the surname doesn’t require)

This Scott sometimes seems more reasonable (check his history.)

The other more vitriolic Scott is membership 345021 from August 28, 2009.
Odd that the more reasonable Scott is a month older than the other.

    Multiple personas here too…

I’ve been automatically skipping most of Freitas’s posts so I didn’t detect the change.
In some posts he even refers to the other Scott and insults him:
    http://www.gocomics.com/tonyauth/2009/10/21/
No-one notices because I pressume most of us skim or skip over his vitriolic…

Now, is it Scott being both or is it someone else? We haven’t noticed one Scott complaining so I’m going for one and same.

So, Scott is a troll. Quite an elaborate one.
Wow, quite a bored chap to create these personas…

OmmyQ, that is very unimaginative of you. It is easy to change one’s post-name. If we could figure out who this wacko is ; we would find one of the major trolls on this forum. My guess is it is an alternative persona of the recently silent “Moose”.

Puppy: “Death Panels still in the Bill the last I heard.”

Which merely means you haven’t heard anything since several weeks ago when Sarah Palin made that up.

Puppy: “You know as well as I do , somewhere at sometime , someONE is going to have to decide what care will be rationed.”

And you think it’s better to have some for-profit insurance company making those decisions???

    NoFearPupGenius_badge said, 15 days ago

Fake-Scott used to go by orl911211.
Anthony, I don’t want anyone like you to be the final arbiter of my health decisions; any more than I would want to give Tom Delay that job.

Motive: no idea who is copying my name. What, just because I got the “genius” tag, it means my name is open to all non-geniuses???

Reading the replies written so far by my brain-dead imposter, I’d have to answer “yes”…

Lol Puppy, I should’ve guessed. Someone who changes her name so often would know that, of course. ;-) Point conceded.
So, Freitas, it seems a slightly nicer you doesn’t exist afterall. Now I’m all sad again. :-(

  13. Anthony 2816

Anthony 2816Genius_badge said, 15 days ago

Puppy, as usual, you’re running away from the issue.

As it stands now, if you have private insurance, then a for-profit person at the insurance company, probably a retired nurse, is the “final arbiter of (your) health decisions”.

Since you automatically hate anything created by “libs”, including health care reform, then I can only assume you like the present system.

If you’d like to expound upon this, instead of just running away, then make an erudite comment.

  14. NoFearPup

    NoFearPupGenius_badge said, 15 days ago

Yes, I’ll respond. So you have a problem with the insurance companies? Obama could fix it overnight. He’s President.
What the Libs are doing here is enact party insurance, at the expense of future freedom and sovereignty. I’m already regretting responding to you, NamelessOne, but go ahead and lay down some insulting and dismissive talk; give me the opportunity to ignore you all over again.

  15. cdward

    cdward said, 14 days ago

Puppy, there is a valid point made, that someone is already rationing your health care. Someone, by the way, who is paid to make sure you get as little as possible. Often they have no medical background whatsoever.

You do realize, also, that the current very weak plan does not have politicians deciding care issues, don’t you? You’re just saying that to make people think the government will turn granny into Soylent Green.

And why on earth do you say the president can “fix it overnight”? What president has ever been able to fix anything overnight?

To all, I might recommend T. R. Reid’s “The Healing of America,” as a good overview of the current health care situation.

And what’s wrong with having multiple personae?

  18. motivemagus

    motivemagus said, 14 days ago

ET: Myself, I think it can be construed as dishonest, if conflicting perspectives are put forward. Then it’s just teasing people. If you are keeping a persona for a very specific issue that does not conflict with other posts – for example, the EnglishTeacher persona only speaking about grammar – that’s a bit different, and allows more focus without muddying the waters.
I won’t be emulating you, however. I don’t use my real name here (though no doubt someone could figure me out given the clues I’ve dropped) so I can speak my mind more freely than I could if I thought my clients might see my posts, but I always stick with the same identity so there is no doubt who is responding.
Of course, there’s also Puppy, who is easily identifiable regardless of name, by his own intention, I think, so I suppose that’s just a fashion statement!

  19. Anthony 2816

Anthony 2816Genius_badge said, 14 days ago

A public option (note the word “option”) is not going to affect our “future freedom and sovereignty”, Puppy.

Yes, I have a problem with insurance companies, because I’ve seen patients get hurt by decisions made solely by their insurance companies, whether it’s denial of procedures, medicines, or even requiring additional unneeded surgeries.

How could Obama fix this overnight, Puppy?

(BTW, on the 11/02 Don Wright thread, you just called me “you narcissistic, self-absorbed…”, so I think you know what you can do with your whine about “insulting and dismissive talk”.)

  20. omQ R

omQ RGenius_badge said, 14 days ago

    Plural of persona=personae.
    Duly noted, ET. ;-)

Motive: As much as I disagree with Scott, I’m a little peeved at whoever borrowed his handle, albeit with an accent. We did pick it up though! Although I needed Puppy to slap me down back to earth onto the right track. :p
We do all seem to have an identifiable signature in how we write and how we put things across so when a more reasonable Scott popped up, he stuck out like a sore thumb.

It’s happened several times before recently. There were two David’s and two howgozit’s. I rather suspect someone of the liberal persuasion who thinks it’s funny to do this, and I rather wish he wouldn’t. It is childish and dishonest (imo).

  22. dtroutma

    dtroutma said, 14 days ago

Scooter, it IS reprehensible that anyone would steal your, or anyone else’s identity, in an effort to twist your perspectives, long established.

Based on those long-standing statements and positions, “genius” has never been the suspect target.

  23. DrCanuck

    DrCanuck said, 14 days ago

On the other hand. motive’, you know as well as any that personality is situationally specific to large degree. And an intellectually honest person will be aware of attitudinal conflicts and may test out various perspectives he holds, seeking social validation of these views. I’ve always thought that’s what the Puppy has been doing.

Or he could be just screwing around…..

  24. motivemagus

    motivemagus said, 14 days ago

I see your point, DrCanuck, but personality traits are actually fairly stable in adulthood, depending on which ones we are talking about, without some extended effort, though you can arouse certain elements in certain contexts.

I can see someone testing out ideas, since being challenged by both sides can help you think things out (a trait of an extravert, incidentally), and God knows there’s plenty of that ‘round here. But as I said, not my style.

Well in truth.. he hasn’t done much of anything his first year for one reason or another.

-he started with a compromise position with healthcare reform

-he let conservative knee-jerk talkshow hosts control the debate for healthcare

-he couldn’t control the bought and sold corporate democrats who voted down the bill in the financing commity because they recieved sizable ammounts of insurance industry lobbyist money

-he didn’t do anything to help the gays/lesbians who are pushing for equal rights like he said he would.

-he is perpetuating the wars instead of ending them while terrorist groups just moved to pakistan and north africa

-he is agrees with and is continuing bush’s domestic spying policies instead of ending them

-he can’t get democratic senators and leaders to agree on anything.

-he can’t get anything passed even with a super-majority because half the democrats vote against whatever it is.

all he’s done is push net neutrality and allow people with aids to travel into the US.

democrats can’t seem to do anything unless the republicans screw up bad enough that they do the work for them. Thankfully I don’t belong to a political party otherwise I’d be more disappointed more than I already am.
