This is all the power we need – much more powerful than any fuel or any weapon.

Yes, we should try harder to harness the power of the sun. Science will save us.

Should we use sustainable resources? of course…should we also love peace, help the poor, and be meek and humble like Christ teaches? even more so!

btw…alot of the top Universities that are researching these renewable resources are owned by the Church! Duke, Yale, Emory, Harvard…etc.

svenduss - Universities owned by the Church? Harvard, Yale, Duke, Emory? Huh? None of those are Catholic universities. If you had said Georgetown, Duquesne, Notre Dame, Catholic University, sure, but those four are none of them Catholic. Harvard was founded to train Puritan ministers (Congregationalist), Yale was founded because they weren’t conservative enough for Cotton Mather – both were quite anti-Catholic.

motive, I don’t know the status of each of these universities, but to say they’re “owned by the church” doesn’t mean only the Roman Catholic Church. “The Church” is a broad term that includes all Christian denominations.

motive - sorry I wasn’t specific….Emory and Duke (along with Northwestern, et. al.) are Methodist Institutions, Yale is Episcopal, and Harvard is Universal Unitarian (not a Christian Church, but still religious).

A sustainable power source: the ability of humans to believe in fantasies!

DrCanuck, whether they are fantasies or not is the great unknown. However, regardless of what we believe, we can certainly work together for a healthier, more peaceful and just world without denigrating each other, no?

cdward: I’m with you entirely on your world-goals. But please don’t misinterpret my comment as denigration; a good fantasy can indeed go a long way to establishing peace and health. I’m all in favour of fantasies!

Only for those who believe, so we need another sustainable power source.

Awful, awful rubbish. This tripe should not be allowed in a newspaper. It is just appealing to the lowest common stupid, under-educated religious republican. 2nd Pullitzer prize? The editorial cartoonist category is now officially a joke.
