It is not unreasonable to be very concerned about the IS in Syria and Iraq. Those people have been denounced by even prominent Islamic clerics and Al Qaeda.

    @DaSharkie

The reason that ISIS exists is because the Bush administration kept warning about the “mushroom cloud” (Rice), Axis of Evil (Bush), and imminent threat (Rumsfeld, McLellan, Bush) – the threat part was denied by Bush admin in 2004 despite the numerous quotes you can find. They wanted war in Iraq despite the warnings given by the 1992 Sec of State that predicted the current chaos explaining why the US didn’t remove Saddam then. It is a shame that VP Cheney didn’t listen to Sec of State Cheney.
    -
Fear is being used to get people to agree to a militarized US and make people think spying is OK.
    -
While the bogus ‘orange alerts’ stopped after the 2004 election (funny how that happened), fear was and is still used by the government to get people to ignore the fact that NOTHING is being done to benefit PEOPLE (unless you count corps at PEOPLE).

Great recruiting poster. Thousands of young people from Europe and America had joined up by last June, and this latest well-designed ad campaign must be bringing in lots more.

I think we need to treat mass murderers and terrorists the same way. Ignore them and focus on the victims by celebrating their lives that were cut short.
Look at Elliot Rodger and his YouTube video titled “Elliot Rodger’s Retribution”

    Recruitment poster:
Are you bored with video games? Join ISIL and play for real. We have the best selection of war toys that American can supply. Join us now, your place or ours.

Michael wme: speaking of “recruiting” and that U.S. total of 70 gang members joining that jolly band of ISIL (ISIS, IS, whatever), how many tattoos of tears are added to gang members in the U.S., yearly, monthly, weekly, or daily to represent folks they’ve killed to join their peers?? How many kids are killed annually while sitting on their porches, or sleeping in their beds by drive-by shootings, all over the country, not just in much-maligned Chicago?? (Miami IS deadlier btw as far as your odds of getting offed-it’s called “statistics”.)

We’re supposed to fear: Column A; ISIS, Ebola, Al Qaeda, meteors, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, bears, cougars, bats with rabies, wolves, coyotes, mosquitos, Iran, etc, the list of idiot fears is almost endless, but in Column B are; drunk drivers, texting drivers, gang members, pet dogs, bees, and drunken spouses. Those in Column B kill far more Americans, every year, than have ever been killed by those “well known” terrors making up column A.

Are the crazies in ISIS and “Islamic terror groups” a problem? Yes, but those actually hear at home, like just Jeffery Dahmer, Charlie Manson, or dozens of other serial or mass murderers represent a far greater danger.

Oh, right, we’re also now supposed to fear the very cops we hire to CATCH our local crazies and lock them up. Is there reason to get rid of bad cops and bad citizens? Yes, but where lies the line of rational solutions, and thought in America?

    It’s really getting depressing.

OR, just give a 9-year old girl and Uzi, stand back, and get blown away. (and that was her “instructor”!) Even hunter safety is smart enough to wait til the kids are 12, and doesn’t give ’em automatic weapons…

^In Medford, OR last weekend a (white) nut job fired a shotgun at police officers, and was killed in return fire. In Klamath Falls, OR this week a Sheriff’s deputy was shot in the face by a (white) guy, and luckily may live, though still in serious condition during a “routine” car stop. This is by “media standards” small town incidents, smaller than Ferguson, MO, by a long shot….

As noted here, many, many, times, I do NOT support bad cops, but am sick of all the attacks when the vast majority of cops ARE “authoritarian personalities”, it’s why they become cops, but they ARE vastly in number GOOD cops!

Where is the NATIONAL MEDIA and hysteria reporting on these two incidents where BAD GUYS started shooting first? Or reporting the FACT that the vast majority of police officers NEVER fire their weapons in anger in their entire careers??

I do not support the death penalty as “social mandate”, but I DO support legitimate use of force, and if someone shoots at cops, I think they should be booked into the morgue, and save the state some cash (how’s that for “liberal”), likewise large scale hard drug(opiates, meth, cocaine, or prescription drugs like Oxy that can kill) dealers should ingest whatever they have on them at the time of their arrest to “preserve the evidence” and also booked into the morgue, but hey, that’s just “weeping liberal” me.

Sorry, hit submit too soon, but, also almost a dozen Americans have joined ISIS, two killed so far, but OMG! We’re all gonna die! ISIS (ISIL) is gonna’ take over the U.S., so let’s go kill a few hundred thousand more folks who’ve got nothing to do with them!
