    That’s John Kerry trying for another Silver Star… Of course, he could just award himself one like Johnson did… Oh, that’s right he did do that!

    @Omnius

    So you’re in favor of regime change? You should tell Obama, ‘cause he’s not.

    Which of course begs the questions: How do we get him out of power, and who takes over?
    Try to come up with answers that don’t involve a long, arduous US occupation of yet another Middle Eastern country.

    To be accurate, you need to have McCain crashing the plane somewhere.

    Actually, pretty good sketch of an A-4 Skyhawk, and points out why those piloting them had to be really short!! As to McCain avoiding SAMs, wasn’t so good at it, BUT despite all my disagreements, especially as he’s become more “unstable” as a probable result of PTSD over the years, I DO respect that with a father who was an admiral; John McCain WAS there putting his butt on the line, and nearly loosing it, as opposed to deserting from the home town National Guard.

    There IS a distinct difference in courage, insight, and credibility. McCain AND Kerry,despite detractors of them on either side, WERETHERE”, when both could have easilyt been “elsewhere”.

    Having real soldiers in cabinet level positions seems to have averted military action.
    So of course it was an accident, armchair quarterbacks insist.
    If it is thought about, how can these folks not know how silly they sound to those who have “been there”?
    I am reminded of 4 year olds explaining sex to each other and arguing the finer points. It is hard to hold a straight face at times.

    Yes, it’s a good likeness, but it doesn’t match the pure joy of having a squadron of Marines practicing night carrier landings by doing touch and go ’til 0400. NAS Litchfield Park, AZ, 64/65

    ^Not hardly “armchair”, I’ve had PTSD for over 40 years, and have worked with a shrink myself for a long time, studied the issue, and helped a number of our vets coming back from Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere, including my son. It’s helpful to them, and me, to have someone who’s “been there, done that” to talk to. My current shrink, who I still work with monthly has pointed out the value of that, with the proviso, “just don’t try to ’heal” him", but working with each other is a little like ‘group". And, I’ve also had psych experience with other training as well. Ah, education is a terrible thing!
