Everything you say is being recorded, and they can analyze it later… imagine that.

The NSA is not nearly as bad as the corporations who actually DO try to manipulate your life by recording every web search and e-mail you do on your computer, then deluge you with ads pertaining to that subject.

Read the new book Big Data and you will begin to realize just how much information about you can be collected. But the NSA does not record the conversations of every call you make (unless you are a “person of interest”), because even they could not handle the amount of data (in any useful time frame). Rather they obtain information from companies (that you pay so that you can communicate) which indicate numbers called, duration, and perhaps calling location.

    .

So first of all, that data already exists independent of NSA.

    .

Second: The companies with that data will license it so that someone else can use it for some commercial purpose. Possibly identifying information will be scrubbed from the sold data, but maybe not.

    .

Contrary to the view expressed above, the information collected from your web searches might be helpful. Google figured out how to use web search data to determine where flu outbreaks were happening in near real time. Whereas the CDC would take longer because it has to wait for doctors and hospitals to report cases.

    .

In Denmark, the cell phone records were used, along with other data, particularly cancer data, to determine that there was no correlation between cell phone use and cancer. So that bug-a-boo was laid to rest.

Get used to it. You will be tracked, for the benefit of companies and sometimes even for your own benefit.

Corporations (Facebook, Verizon) are the ones gathering the information. The feds get it from them.

When you were hired by your employer, you were verbally informed and given written documentation of acceptable use of employee assets. You were required ti sign this document stating you read and understood the Standards for use of Company assets. You agreed your employer has the right to read your emails and track where you go on the internet.

Why not a cartoon that shows those that use “Face Book, U-Tube, Instagram, etc.” releasing ALL their private info with NO concern………NSA learns nothing compared to this!
