Drones are good. The best in the world.

Anyone who thinks Brennan is behind these dramatically increased drone attacks is delusional. It’s being done for purely political purposes by Obama so he doesn’t have to incarcerate the cretins in Guantanamo which is an anathema to his libtard base.

McCain would rather send troops into Lybia, Pakistan, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Iran, and any other place that a two-bit criminal operation exists purely because of the reaction to neoconservative idiots in the U.S. We’re so lucky he wasn’t elected! But I still would like to see more oversight over drones and the kill list — a FISA-type court if necessary, and move the drone program from the CIA to the army, where there’s a tradition of accountability.

These things, these conditions are NOT simplistic, as the tea bagging conservatives would like…Any intellectual answer would be above their heads..

But the deaths by drones from 2002 – 2008 were completely justified, mission accomplished.

Or maybe we could look it at as, “Bush did it and it was wrong, now Obama is continuing in the error of his predecessor and he’s just as wrong.” This should just be on the use of the drones to kill people, with or without the political comparisons.

Eh, I’d rather use drone strikes than soldiers.

    “drones rather than soldiers.”

Here’s a novel concept, leave the middle east to them and bring all our men and equipment back home.

@mickey1339 Agree totally. Does that mean that I am becoming a relatively moderate conservative like you? Besides which, that would be a truly excellent way to reduce the deficit.

I have been saying this all along. We (the entire civilized world) should stay away from the religious fanatics of the Middle East. Plus, we need energy independence from these people at the same time. Let them eat their oil as far as I am concerned!

A combination of natural gas, and wind, plus other renewable energy, along with far higher mpg for our automobiles, plus any other way to reduce our foreign oil imports is just fine with me. Another plus to that would be a decrease in both pollution and greenhouse gasses at the same time. I still believe in the resourcefulness of Americans, we can do this, we just need the will to do it!

I say this until I’m blue in the face, I’m a Libertarian. When I share my views on abortion, gay marriage, war and the military, healthcare, the average conservative turns purple. Unfortunately I think somewhere along the line the association was made to libertarians being conservatives. I am too fiscally conservative for most liberals and way too socially liberal for most conservatives. It’s a political no mans land in some respects and I have a tendency to attack both sides of the political spectrum.

I concur wholeheartedly in your sentiments about energy production and getting away from foreign oil. I would like to abandon the middle east altogether, militarily first and then put any American companies on notice that if they want to do business in the region they are on their own. The whole area is a snake pit to me(Libertarians hate war and military spending!!!)

Just a thought: If a soldier in the field, like a SEAL has a target in his sights that looks like Al Qaeda, or Taliban, does he now have to ask for a passport to assure he’s not shooting an “American” who’s committed treason and is now in a foreign land, fighting America, and American troops????

Why are we there at all?

Really. Serious question. $80,000,000,000 a year, and for what? What do we hope to accomplish? How would we recognize it if we saw it?
