Or…How Eric Cantor and the Tea-Party Repubs see John Boehner

Sadly, Congress HAS deteriorated into a Circus, so why not a clown to lead it?
motivemagus said, 4 months ago
He only got re-elected because the idiots opposing him didn’t have the ability to coordinate (why should they? “Compromise” and “collaboration” aren’t in their vocabulary!) and they were too stupid to pick an alternative candidate to vote FOR.

Oooh, that cartoon isn’t even NICE.

I thought this was anti-bullying week. No wonder nothing gets done, everyone picks on everyone and no one takes responsibility for his or her actions.

Agreed,
If Boehner’s a clown, THEY’RE the Keystone Cops

“What do you know… You’re just a chick, a dumb broad. Get back in the kitchen and make me a sammich!”
I must say, you have definitely hit idiot troll level, even in the comic world. Insult the handicapped, women, calling people pedophiles… Even if you just consider it sarcasm ( a stretch at best) it still shows incredibly poor taste. And you call yourself a liberal?

“Oooh, that cartoon isn’t even NICE.”
Can you imagine the caricature he would drum up for Harry Reid?

The question is, will this Congress be worse than the previous? If they start off with a shut-down of the Government, then they’re well on their way to “winning” the clown prize.

And who’s the Grand Marshall of the Clown Parade of the federal government? Oh ya Barry.

Boehner can continue to lead his right wing lockstep army into oblivion.

I don’t like Boehner for a variety of reasons. But in a way, I actually feel sorry for him. Today’s House Republicans are a coalition of groups that have a common enemy (liberals/progressives/Obama) and not much else in common. “My enemy’s enemy is my friend” seems to be what “holds” them together (and I put “holds” in quotes because their actions show how weak that bond is).

There are a number of Democrats I’d rather see than Reid leading in the Senate, and Pelosi was weak out of the gate with “impeachment is off the table” (and most of the country doesn’t have a clue what “impeachment” actually implies) in the House. On the Republican side, their entire “leadership” potential candidates in the House are dismal, and in the Senate, well, maybe worse.
WE as a nation need a Congress, House AND Senate, willing to LEAD, and join with the Administration to put the people ahead of special interests, be they corporate, union (strength there highly overblown by the media), or even special interest groups, whether AARP, AIPAC, AEI, or others. Lobbying is totally out of control, and legislation is needed to again restrict the capability of the “K Street Mafia”, to outvote, the voters.
We don’t need to amend the Constitution to achieve a sounder system, just re-regulate, and re-legislate what has been done away with in the last 30-40 years. Which would also include doing away with 80% of the “tax codes”, which are mostly exemptions for those special interests.

Well, I think one law everyone would support (everyone who is not and never has been a member of Congress or its staff) is to prohibit anyone who has ever worked for Congress from becoming a lobbyist.

It shouldn’t be too complicated. There are somewhat strict rules about who can lobby — they have to be registered. Just make it illegal for any member of Congress or their staff from ever registering, and therefore ever lobbying.
