Just because you don’t understand the science doesn’t make it any less true.

Let it go over the cliff. Then we can re-institute what need and not what we want.

Going over the cliff will wipe out Grover Norquist, which is the best argument for letting it happen.

Why do they keep showing a ledge instead of a cliff? We are headed there. The ledge will be a nice place to watch the Leonid Meteor Shower.

They really are quite a couple…
Let’s hope that they closely monitor their blood pressure during the inauguration gala—-

Pity to think they may POP!

Do a restart on the global warming, if it had not be twisted to where it could be blamed on mankind it would be simple.
    .
The earth is warming, some idiots tried to blame burning coal, this caused a great many people to dismiss the entire idea.
    .
The warming is there, been there before , will be there again. Kills a lot of fauna when it happens.
    .
Ignore the “we caused it” folks and work on survival.

The fiscal cliff, now that is a joke put up by politicians, hopefully a few of them will perish.

NO!! YOU do NOT understand the science, but the scientists that are telling us that Global Climate Change is both real and a total threat to not only the US, but the entirety of humanity DO understand!

Why are you such an internet TROLL???

  8. Robert Landers

    Welllll, almost at any rate!!

True, such warming has indeed happened before in a natural manner. But, that also occurred over thousands of years (fast for geological times, but certainly not for human history).

However, the changes are now happening in less than hundreds of years, and they are happening exponentially as never before.

Would a little logic then tell us that a factor that was never here before is causing this acceleration? Like perhaps humanity burning up tens of billions of tons of hydrocarbons into our fragile atmosphere, every single year??

    Could that even be possible?

You had better bet you bottom booties that it can!!!

The ultra cons on sites such as this one are so very worried that future generations are going to be so mad at this one for leaving them a large debt load to help stop this condition before mother nature goes over a cliff far higher than ANY fiscal cliff we can even imagine.

In a twisted kind of a way, they might be correct, as future generations will not be mad at us for doing nothing (and therefore leaving them a lighter debt load) about this problem that WE have created. However, this would then be because they will not be able to breath the air, drink the water, nor live on the polluted land that we bequeath them. The twist is that they will not resent us, as they will ALL be DEAD!!

So just perhaps we should be listening to those that have spent their lives both learning about, and then studying these kinds of things, instead of the likes of “entertainment” (if you want to call it even that) on FOX so called NEWS!!!

Oh, such as big oil and coal can indeed find some scientists willing to be paid off to counter the 99 or more true scientists that are true climatologists, but should we then listen to those with a totally vested interest in only the present, and absolutely no interest beyond the next quarterly report of their bloated empires. So you truly think that they actually give a hoot about future generations at all???

If I and the 99% of the worlds scientists that are convinced of the truth of Global Climate Change are wrong, then we will possibly lose some of our wealth, true. But if we are right, then those future generations will lose EVERYTHING. Is it truly worth the gambol???

Ansonia, maybe you have heard that the Pentagon declared in its Quadrennial Defense Review, that changes in the global climate are increasing the frequency and the intensity of cyclones, droughts, floods, and other radical weather events, and that the effects may destabilize governments; sparks mass migrations, famine, and pandemics; and prompt military conflict in particularly vulnerable areas of the world…. Ah! The Pentagon, that bastion of wooly radicals, did what the many denialists in the House of Representatives refuse to do: accept the basic science! -David Remnick-NO MORE MAGICAL THINKING/Nov 19,2012

    “Theories frequently change, facts don’t.”

That “frequently” is WAY overstated. Theories hardly ever change, and when they do, they evolve into more sophisticated versions of the old ones. The new one has to explain everything the old one did plus more besides.

For example, Einstein showed that Newton’s laws of motion were a simplified version of more general laws that had a couple of extra terms to account for superfast speeds and superhigh gravity, but they boiled down to Newton’s basic laws for Earth-like conditions.

“Theory” is a term applied by scientists only to the most respected hypotheses, ones that have high explanatory power and have been repeatedly tested and no exceptions found.

Supporting scientific evidence helps ansonia. I’d suggest getting up to date information from the best scientific journals. I have prior experience in genetic research, field science in botany and ornithology. I’m also a physician. Science is a great magazine. You know the most highly regarded scientists at Nasa, NOAA, and the best universities in the world STRONGLY believe in AGW. Research a bit more and I believe you will change your mind.
