I really don’t understand this mentality that paints our own country’s efforts to defend itself from Jihad as a “House of Horrors”.
Simple question for anyone: If waterboarding Khalid Sheikh Muhammad prevented an airplane from flying into the Los Angeles Library and gave us the names and locations of the top Al-Qaeda officials, as has been reported in the Wall Street Journal and other sources, was it worth it?

I really wish the Dems would go flog their collective selves.

Veteran CIA folks are as disgusted by Cheney’s crew as anyone- it isn’t so much the methods, as the contempt for law, and their peers.

Make up all the “24” episodes you want, Habanero, it won’t matter.

Ugh! Nancy Pelosi in leather d0minatrix gear is NOT a pretty sight!

You gotta love conservatives. “We CAN’T hold the CIA accountable for their actions - their feelings might get hurt!”
Dunno what Leon Panetta is thinking by going along with that argument.

trout and motive are in dreamland.

Howgozit, you’re in fantasyland with nospam4me. Torture doesn’t work. Proven fact.
We didn’t torture in WWII, did we?
dtroutma said, 2 months ago
Torture satisfies revenge and Sadists, it doesn’t provide reliable information. Roman Catholic interrogators, and Puritan interrogators proved you can get confessions to prove how saintly you were, and how evil couldn’t triumph over YOU!! In nearly 600 years, the message still hasn’t sunk in to little pea brains that other techniques, without dogma, might secure more useful information.

It was different in World War II, motive; we could fight the enemy then - before you freaky-Libs got so powerful. And I’m pretty sure we got our answers when we needed them in WWII, anyway.
