Mean spirited = party politics (as in trying to turn the health care issue into the Prez’s ‘Waterloo’ just because you lost big in the last major election)

Poor, poor Republicans - always the victims. Whatever could they have done to deserve this oppression?
I remember cartooons just like this about Dems in 1984, when Mondale’s loss made it clear that a new conservative era really had begun. In another 30 or 40 years, the pendulum will swing again, and we’ll see this exact same joke with a donkey instead of an elephant.

Inaccurate ‘toon, it should show the Dem’s opportunistic jackass jumping out of the DNC window because if the economy improves we won’t be needing their programs.

How is the economy “recovering”? I don’t see much improvement. Are the unemployment numbers better? The Government is the only one hiring except in pockets. We’re only selling cars because you and I are giving money to incentivize those buying them. Developers still are having trouble getting money from the banks, even if they have enough to back the loans.
If can’t be because of the DJIA is above 9300. That is like a tracking poll and not that relevant according to the president.

For those of you who say this is a jobless recovery, please remember that in all US depressions/recessions, the jobs rate is the last thing to rebound. after the 2001 recession, job growth lagged 19 mos. behind. While this does not mean that Obama’s plan is perfect and is working perfectly, I am suggesting that the standards by which you judge the Prez’s performance should be more informed.

Gee you leftwingers keep harping monies aren’t till 2010. If economy is improving it must be a cyclical thing.

Huh. Somehow my comment (which ANandy graciously reposted verbatim) was deleted. Did somebody take offense at my use of the old pot-calling-the-kettle-black meme? I’m all for flagging inappropriate comments, but have we not gone a little too far?
