Illegal immigration is wrong, and before anyone says it, I’m pro immigrant. Illegal immigrants are breaking the law, dont pay taxes, but want to use the services said taxes pay for. I can understand why they are doing it, but that doesn’t excuse the fact that they are breaking the law.

Speaking of “undocumented”, is there really much (or any) evidence for this “illegal voting” mantra from the right? (Remember, being registered by ACORN isn’t the same thing as casting a vote in an election)

If they are given blessings from Osamessiah to become legal by a stroke of his pen, then he’s counting on more votes for Democrats. A political move. Look how many millions of additional future votes!
They should be shipping illegals back to their own countries to allow legal Americans a chance for jobs.
I don’t think that’s the “change” he’s going for, do you?

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that there were 80,000 illegal aliens registered to vote in Chicago prior to the November 2008 presidential election.
The newspaper determined that most of the election fraud was due to motor voter registration laws.
An illegal alien can apply for a driver’s license with a phony social security number, and be automatically registered to vote.
In the 2004 Virginia Senate race, Democrat Jim Webb defeated George Allen by 7,231 votes. The newspaper estimated 42,000 votes were cast by illegal aliens.
The National Voter Registration Act (Motor Voter Law) was signed into law by Bill Clinton.
Opponents of the law were called racists.
It is estimated that there are 2.7 million illegal aliens registered to vote nationwide.
Motor Voter has made it easier to register, but difficult to verify.
Since registration can be done on-line or through the mail, it has added tens of thousands of unqualified voters who, in some cases, are deceased or who have registered more than once.
In close races fraudulent votes can determine the outcome of the election, and undermine the electoral process.

I once had to “prove” my citizenship after I moved from 1 State to another - my birth certificate & drivers license from another state wasn’t “good enough”. Even though I grew up in a neighboring town & had recently moved back to help with some family medical issues - they wanted 2 forms of ID that I didn’t have - like a marriage license or passport.
I was perplexed - I ended up getting my old high school year book that “proved” who I was and that I am a 4th generation citizen of the USA. That was in 2002 when one could register to vote when getting a drivers license.
What’s with all this “Hoo Ha” BS that Moore is concerned about - the DMV is very good at what they do to insure U R Who U Claim To Be (at least in my experience).
BTW - I would be considered “WASP” in the old labeling system - in case U were wondering if I looked “Latino” or anyother “color” minority. What a Racist Topic Moore chooses to draw with frequency….and then there’s the Nut Jobs with Scott-Freakout-as with his bigoted racists rants.

There’s only one way to stop illegal immigration across our southern border… mines. Mine the border. Sure, a few people would be blown up, but the word would quickly get out - don’t try to cross the border illegally unless you want to risk losing your life… Just kidding. edcole, I have Hispanic reltives who’ve never became citizens who vote in every election. Apparently it’s wide spread. they also have California drivers licences - apparently you don’t show proof of citizenship at the DMV.
sablebrush, I can see you are joking, but they are already risking their lives. I know along the border in Cochise County Arizona, they were finding bodies just about every week or so when I was there.
I also have a number of legally immigrated neighbors from India and Africa, and they are as angry that we allow the ilegally immigrated here as any nativist, and with more reason when you realize what they went through to get here the legal way.
The system’s broke. The illegally immigrated get victimized, national security is compromised, and competition for jobs - not just agricultural but carpentry, welding, etc. becomes unfair. We gotta fix this.

And once the illegals are registered to vote, we have to print the ballot in their language to make sure they vote democrata.
Naturalized citizens must read, write and understand English.
I guess that explains why California prints ballots in 44 languages?!
And when the democratas give assurances that illegals won’t be covered by public health insurance, well, in the words of Joe Wilson…That’s a lie!!!
One provision of the health bill says that medical providers are not permitted to verify citizenship.
Hey, mush-brain liberals…what do you think that means?
Illegals will get public health insurance.
Liberalism—what a crock of sheep-dip.

Off-topic, but today (Saturday) the House is considering H.R. 3962–the health reform bill.
The House Joint Committee on Taxation confirmed that under provisions of the bill:
Americans who do not maintain acceptable health insurance coverage and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.
The Senate removed that wording from their bill fearing that the threat of imprisonment and fines may cost them their jobs.

Oh, this bigotry is so sad. “Illegal” immigration is not a big problem in this country. Almost all the “illegals” have jobs. They work hard, doing jobs that, until the Great Republican Recession, have gone begging for native-born Americans. Although “illegals” don’t pay income taxes, they pay plenty of sales taxes & other taxes, while having a terrible time receiving any benefits from these taxes. There is little evidence that “illegals” vote. California writes its ballot in many languages to ensure that all citizens can vote. Anyone who has tried to read referendum questions realizes that they can be difficult even in one’s first language. Providing ballots in other languages takes a step toward more informed voting.
Scott, your remark is fraught with hatred, bigotry, misinformation, & incorrectness. Then, you claim to be a Christian. What a poor representative of Christianity you are. If I can ever scrape together the energy & at least a half-hour of time, I shall go into more detail about the wrong-headedness of your theology, but not today.
Contrarian, where, precisely, did you read that 42,000 “illegals” voted in Virginia in 2004?
Lew, same-day registration still insists on proof of citizenship. Nice try. I trust that you don’t do your constitutional law work in this slipshod fashion, right?

More guns in the office in Orlando, Mrob., would have led to more deaths & wounds, not fewer. The more shots fired, the more bullets flying, the more people hurt or killed. There is a direct correlation. Law enforcement guns may have created some of the victims of Fort Hood: it is still unclear.
Your argument, Mrob., is Archie Bunker’s proposal, almost forty years ago, to solve airline hijacking: Arm all the passengers. It was ridiculous then, and it still is, I’m afraid.

I’ve watched many of our small towns here in Oregon going from no Hispanics when I was a kid to being over 50% Hispanic now. Those towns, that have a huge Hispanic population have major gang problems and extremely high crime, they have removed the traditional town festivals and replaced them with Hispanic pride garbage, etc.
I know that you get all your information from the Obama/Pelosi/Reid websites and you bow down toward the White House and your Lord Obamessiah every morning, but you’ll excuse the rest of us if we don’t join in your perverted religion and worshiping your socialist god.
And sorry, but your “facts” tend to be pulled out of ultra-liberal propaganda and have not the slightest connection to reality.
So, continue your typical bashing of Christians, while making excuses for the atrocities constantly being committed by Muslims- I see plenty of you libs trying to make excuses for the Islamic turd down at Fort Hood, blaming Bush, the military, his colleagues, anything but that poor, misunderstood follower of the “religion of peace”.

Reflex: so you’re saying all one has to do to be a citizen is just buy stuff? I know I can’t go to Australia and just “buy stuff” and not be deported the first time I come into contact with any law officer who asks me for my ID…
America is supposed to be under the rule of law, yet our politicians–excuse me, Demoncrat politicians!–deliberately violate the law by forbidding both police and other government agencies from asking for proof of citizenship (go to the WIC offices here in my Arkansas city, and the waiting room is filled with mostly Hispanic chicks who can’t speak a word of English, and yet get all the food stamps they want through a spanish-speaking bureacrat who never asks for any ID), as well as by creating “Safe Havens” in major US cities where NO ONE–including both employers and landlords–is allowed to ask for proof of citizenship.. the list is endless.
The Demoncrat Party is the major force behind this because they know these ignorant, illiterate illegals will gladly vote Demoncrat so long as they’re allowed to stay in the US, and given “free” money by the government. These illegals have no respect or appreciateion for why America was founded, what our system of government means, or anything else. They’re just foreigners desperate to escape what their own foolish thinking produces in government, who fail to understand that by bringing that same thinking HERE, they’ll just turn America into the very thing they wanted to escape from.
The Demoncrats are happy to turn America into a third-world nation where only people in government and their corporate allies can enjoy a decent standard of living. They’ll give the rest of us only hand-outs, in return for our votes. That, or punish us for refusing to do what they want…

David, lets think this through. I’ll find the stats tommorow. On arming 10,000 men and women who get drunk every weekend. At 21 I can legally register for a concealed carry liscense, become a cop, buy alcoholic beverages, and get drunk, well, whenever I feel like it. I could also, join the military, and go into Iraq, Afghanistan, or wherever, and fight in a war. What would prevent me from having a PTSD flashback, and taking out kids?
On Roger……I’ve said this how so many times, you should understand this by now. People like Roger, who would do harm to others are the kind of people who shouldn’t own a firearm, of any kind.
Look at Larry Phillips and Emil Matasereanu, if you dont know who they are, look up the North Hollywood Shootout. They were the gunmen. They imported ammunition for ILLEGALLY, modified assault rifles, and body armor. I’m not in Cali, so I’m not sure, I dont think body armor is now, or ever has been legal in Cali, or anywhere else for that matter. The simple fact is, criminals will not be detered by the outlawing of weapons, and any weapon that is outlawed, will only be owned by outlaws. If you remember, the shootout was in 1997, during the assault weapons ban.
GJ, thanks, that put a bad image in my head. lol.
DavidDow said, 13 days ago
Mrob., in order to keep hysterical bigots like Roger from having guns, we need serious gun control. Indeed, there may not be ANY way to prevent him from having a gun, which is the reason that gun ownership requires serious background checks, registration, licensing, & an open list of the names & contact information of all gun owners, including specifics about all their weapons. Given these hoops, roger would at least think more carefully before entering the newly Mexican neighborhood, itching for a fight.
Your description of one person returning from Iraq with post-traumatic stress disorder hardly compares with your implicit suggestion that all college students—10,000 on the average campus—arm themselves & stroll the campus constantly with concealed weapons in case they might get mugged. You know that so many guns would create many more deaths—not to mention how many would get stolen. The more guns in play, the more likely the wrong people will have guns.
Actually, your contention that the outlawing of weapons will not deter criminals is incorrect. Most criminals are lazy. They seek the easiest way to make quick, easy money. The more difficult it is to get guns, the fewer people—including criminals—will have them. In addition, most annual gun deaths & injuries are not caused by people who were already criminals or by assault weapons. They are caused by people who have not committed any sort of serious crime before but who are carrying a handgun.

I do live in the southwest where acorn signed up hundreds of illegal immigrants and others who are ineligible to vote and not one of them went to the polls and voted. They sign the form to help out the guy standing in front of the library or bus station gathering registrations for a paycheck.
The mistake by acorn was paying these people an incentive for reaching the goal of a specific number of registrations which is dangerously close to paying per registration (which is illegal) instead of a straight hourly wage.
The goal of acorn is to register all of the poor people in the country to vote and motivate them to do so. That’s why they are hated by idiots like Glen Beck and ScottFreitas who, ironically, don’t realize that their snotty, elitist, holier than thou attitudes are exactly like those of the ruling class of mother England that good Americans fought and died to be free of when they tried to force their morals and religion on them. David, you are neglecting key facts. Namely, you have to be 21 to get a CCL, the average student, who graduated H.S. and went directly to college would be 21 by Sr. year. So, there would only be, what 4,000 at most, and not everyone who is 21 has a CCL. Look at a mall, how many are potentially armed in a mall? Yes, guns will get stolen, if I were to give criminals the opportunity, they’d steal my stuff. Keep guns locked up when you are out, and when there are little kids around. That is assuming they dont have a decent to good gun safety mentality. What would the difference be between that, and an apartment complex?
David, if I am in a gang, I am not going to go to wal-mart, or a pawn shop to get my guns, I will either get someone to do it for me, or go to an illegal arms dealer.
Please, David, for the love of God, give me several good reasons why the Gvt. should know what I have in my gun closet, how many, as well as where I live. I have broken no laws that would be a felony.
Yes, I fully agree, guns are dangerous, they dont mix well with idiots, or average people on drugs, alcohol, etc.
There was a kid who was shot last year while trick or treating, sad, I know. He was killed by a felon, with an AK type weapon. Wait….he’s a felon, he shouldnt even have a .22.

Perhaps it’s like the cop shows on TV where volumes of data are available at the click of a Dick Tracy two way wrist watch. I know nobody would use phony documentation to vote for more government goodies for the undeserving. Just like nobody uses their cousin’s papers to get a job. No, people who are ILLEGALLY in this country would not resort to fraud.
Yes, require law abiding citizens to publish that they have guns. Also they should post when they are not home so non-law abiding citizen (or non-citizens) can steal them to use against other law abiding citizens.

Regarding Voter Registration - like Health Care Reform - it’s gonna take a lot of consideration.
I read where there is a bill introduced trying to get Same Day Voter Registration passed on a National Level. Sounds good at first consideration because it increases Voter Participation. But when I think of the long lines of folks waiting their turn - some may give up & go home (even though they could vote after the polls were officially closed - as long as they were in line).
What Oregon does is more logical - they mail the ballots to people’s homes were they can think before they vote.
I’m not sure how “Homeless People” vote (or even how they get their mail - can they afford PO Boxes?).
Maybe this is what all the “Fuss” is about with ACORN - trying to give the dis-enfranchised a chance to vote & have a voice in government. HOW WOULD U PROVE YOU ARE A RESIDENT OF A PRECINCT (IF U DON’T HAVE A JOB, MAILING ADRESS, ETC)?
Here’s some history & statistics - Voting By Mail makes sense to me - do it anyway for Absentee Voters.

According to a report on Edmunds.com, the real cost of the Cash for Clunkers program was $24,000 per car. Every car that was traded in cost us, the taxpayers, $24,000. How many people would have rather kept their old car and just got a check for 20 grand from the government? –Jay Leno
Hey, the health care bill was introduced yesterday. It’s 1,990 pages long and costs $894 billion dollars. Or $2.2 million per word. That makes them the most expensive words to come out of Washington since ‘Mission Accomplished.’ –Jimmy Fallon
On Halloween, the President and Mrs. Obama had a couple thousand kids at the White House and instead of candy, they gave out dried fruit. That’s great. You go to the White House, you stand in a security line for three hours, they give you a bag of prunes? I guess that explains why the White House gate was wrapped in toilet paper the next day. -Jimmy Kimmel

Contrarian, you are a prohibitionist. To each his own. Your reasoning for banning alcohol is good, it is abused, and does ruin lives. It has, however been tried, before, and was a failure, well, except for the mafia.
Much like firearms, alcohol, if used irresponsibly, is dangerous. They both can kill, or worse. However, if people were to drink responsibly, there wouldnt be as many alcohol related deaths.
I think, and this is my opinion, that people who drink and drive, should be arrested, no questions asked, and, after 3 attempts, 2 and a half years in prison, with another 2 and a half years in alcohol education, where they will learn the dangers. After that, they will get their licsense back, but, should they be arrested for drinking and driving, 5 years in prison, minimum, and permanent loss of drivers license.
If this were to be done, people would think twice about it.
Ronshua, is that real, or are you being sarcastic?
