so true about China’s human rights.

    I will add that:

    1) The Minority of Han culture can be the only Governmental office holder in Beijin. Other cultures do not measure up to the Chinese Communist Task.

    2) The Chinese Communist changed the Chinese alphabet so now there are 2 generations of illiterate older persons living in China.

But, oooh! don’t slander the men in in Chinese Communist Government!

    My 2 cents.

If only Carl Moore could quote President Obama directly. It’s weak satire when you must put words in the subject’s mouth.

As for human rights, Moore, a supporter of Bush-Dick, the torture president, hasn’t a leg on which to stand.

I hope more people stand up to Obama not standing up to China. From Rolling over there own people with Tanks to migrating there own people into neighboring countries then invading when the local government complains. I would hate to see our own people rolled over by tanks at the National Mall some day.

Re “Deja Vu?” I have the same “feeling” so I googled “State of the Union Dalai Lama” & found a quote from one of the regulars….

“Have you seen where Obama blew off the Dalai Lama? It’s the first time that the Dalai Lama was not received at the White House by the president in years. Obama asked him to come back after he meets with Hu Jintao in China in November. So here we have Obama kowtowing to human rights violators of the worst kind while pushing away a man who is fighting those very same human rights violators. Yes, China is much more important than Tibet, but Bush met with the Dalai Lama and paid no price.

I thought Obama was a champion of the little guys of this world. And the president of the most powerful country on the planet is afraid of meeting with the Dalai Lama because it’ll hurt China’s feelings? What’s wrong with this picture?”

Who is sablebrush5? - a profound predictor of Carl’s Cartoons? This “Quote” was from 27 days ago - the strip was about one of the characters not using TP - totally off topic.

Coincidence? Or is sablebrush5 aka Carl Moore?

DavidDow, actions speak louder than words. The fact that Obama hasnt met with the Dalai Llama, but with dictators, says more than pres. Obama could.

    Right …

Good ol’ Bush the 84th sells our economy down the river; China buys up half our interests; if they balk at us now, we are ever so screwed. So then the Dalai Lama comes a’ callin’. But China doesn’t like him.

    Now …

Anyone want to guess why Obama had the good sense to delay a meeting with the Dalai Lama when he hasn’t yet talked to the single biggest investor in American livelihood?

Hey DavidDow - hope U had a Great Weekend where ever your travels took you!

As for Obama and not meeting with the Dalai Lama in todays strip:

The Dalai Lama IS WELL AWARE OF REALITY
unlike some of the “UNAWARE” commentors living in some sort of “dreamworld” their mind creates (illusion (maya)).

Is the Dalai Lama concerned with meeting Obama - my guess is probably not….it’s a Buddhist concept.

It’s still a very valid point that Bush met with the Dalai Lama and paid no political price, other than the expected whine-moan-bluster-threaten-jabber from the Chi-com government.

It’s also a valid point that Osama is eager to meet with dictators, anxious to establish “dialogue” with them, but again–no can do on talking to Dalai.

It’s called the “Jesus Standard”, lefties. You wouldn’t know about it because you don’t know Jesus. It goes like this:

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them.

Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.”

If Jesus’ words are too complex for you, allow me to paraphrase: DEEDS, NOT WORDS. Pay attention to what people DO, not what they SAY. Actions speak louder than words. Etc

If the Jesus Standard were applied to politicians, it’s amazing how quickly the entire Demoncrat Party as we know it would utterly cease to exist. And there wouldn’t be much of the GOP left, either ( a few dozen congressmen, and 2-3 senators).

Nice you blame Bush for the issues with China, I was thinking during that it was a liberal congress that allowed it to happen, right? As well, hasn’t Obama used China more then Bush (on top of just blindly printing money)? Bush and Obama’s actions on borrowing tons of money to pay companies off were reckless and stupid. Then Obama the Great took it a few steps further.

    DavidDow
Read any of your past posts and you’ll see somewhere you are putting words in others mouth. Lets start with the so called rape fantasy you claim I have. Nice of you to bring it up after a full weekend and a day have passed. This so called fantasy is actually being prepared for something that is real and does happen. It should never, but it always does and I am read for if it does. How is this a fantasy and how is your comments not putting words in others mouths?

Scott, if Yeshua were president, you would not like it. Firstly, he would scrap the entire military & put the money into helping the poor & children around the world, and he would have no problem raising taxes on the wealthy. In addition, he would tear down the wall along the Rio Grande & leave the borders of the U.S.A. open.

Stop lying about Jesus. He repeatedly warned little Rome-worshippers like you that His kingdom is NOT of this world.

Jesus commanded people to do things–NOT government. When you take money from your own wallet and give it to the poor in a way that actually helps them, you are obeying Jesus and glorifying God.

Conversely, when you are born into a Godless culture which steals money from your paycheck, funnels most of it into the hands of Godless politicians and bureacrats, enabling THEM to live like kings, royalty, and then hands out only tiny amounts of money as a reward to encourage women to fornicate, men to leech off these women, and children to suffer neglect, abuse, and depravity, you are NOT obeying Jesus and are DISHONORING God.

Don’t you lefties get it? Your lies, your sick fantasies about government “helping the poor”, ALWAYS translate into rich politicians and pampered bureacrats rewarding people for SINNING. You basically pay people to sin, while encouraging them to continue sinning forever, lest you stop rewarding them. Moreover, the main point remains: Jesus commanded PEOPLE to do things THEMSELVES, PERSONALLY.

You are not glorifying God by allowing Godless government to pretend to help others, by harming and even destroying them.

    Learn it. Live it.

Obama asked him to come back after he meets with Hu Jintao in China in November. So here we have Obama kowtowing to human rights violators of the worst kind while pushing away a man who is fighting those very same human rights violators. scott …

Interesting that you point out that “lefties” don’t know the “Jesus Standard” … but then admit that if it were applied, “there wouldn’t be much of the GOP left, either.”

Christianity teaches that moral authority is a gift given to humanity as a choice; and that one of the characteristic traits of a false prophet is one who claims to have a higher moral authority than others. Kind of like one who claims his political identity grants him or her a higher pedestal from which to view the world.

  25. scottfreitas

    scottfreitasGenius_badge said, 18 days ago

Not even sure what you’re implying. Birish.

The only identities I will accept as being true are these two: I am a man, and I am a Christian.

Christianity predates the western labels of “Right” and “Left.” The only interesting connection I see in the Bible is that Jesus sits at the RIGHT hand of God; and that it is “the goats” destined for Hell that are placed over to the LEFT, while the sheep bound for Heaven are placed over to the RIGHT.

It is a consistent theme seen in the Bible, with Good and Right going together, and Evil and Left being linked together.

Still, I do not want nor enjoy being called rightwing or conservative or Republican or anything else. I am a christian, period, in the historical, orthodox sense. There are demons today who are seeking to redefine even the word “Christian”, to line up with their own sinful appetites. But they only deceive themselves. I notice whenever I meet a REAL Bible-believing Christian, of either sex, of any age, from any part of the world, we share the same views on all the major issues that Godless westerners love to politicize: abortion, homosexuality, etc

Godless people love to politicize morality, and moralize politics. They believe their politicians are gods like themselves, and can fashion reality into any shape they wish. They are deceived, and do not escape the consequences of their sins any more than does anyone else…

scott, what do you do to help the poor?

  27. BirishB

    BirishB said, 18 days ago

Yes, tiny, I blame Bush and his ridiculous policies for our current economic woes. He set the decline in motion. His Presidency caused the economic downfall we are all suffering from today.

Liberal congress? You mean the democratic congress that came to power in 2006 … with two years remaining in the Bush presidency? Overall, that congress is a relative non-factor, but they certainly do share a small portion of the blame.

But why play the blame game?

We are where we are. And where we are is that China is (1) the largest potential consumer market in the world, (2) highly attractive to US business interests, (3) the most flush with cash, and (4) the single largest stakeholder in the US economy. You think the money borrowed to fund US corporations is large? Then you must not be aware of the holdings and investments that China and Chinese companies have in US companies and the US economy in general.

And when the question is posed, “why doesn’t Obama want to meet with the Dalai Lama?” … my guess is “because we are economically beholden to the Chinese and we don’t want to cause any problems with a power that holds a controlling interest in our very livelihood.”

I suppose I could have said the same thing by simply stating that “China owns more than half the US economy; anyone want to guess why Obama doesn’t want to piss off the country that can literally make or break us right now?”

    BirishB said, 18 days ago

“Godless people love to politicize morality, and moralize politics.”

That’s the very height of irony, scott.

All your lampooning of the “left” in biblical terms, and then you do a complete 180 and come up with that little gem.

  29. scottfreitas

    scottfreitasGenius_badge said, 18 days ago

No, it isn’t irony. You just have a secular worldview and cannot fathom that all of the “social issues” the Left has co-opted are MORAL issues.

I won’t let you hide behind your little labels. You’re a human being, created by God, accountable to God, held to the same MORAL standards as every other human being.

God creates morality; YOU do not.

The difference between us is, I accept this. I don’t get brainwashed into celebrating and defending homosexual behavior, or abortion, or anything else contrary to God’s declared Laws, no matter how much the media, the schools, or politicians tell me to. They can threaten me with “hate crimes” laws all they want; I’ll still condemn such behaviors out loud, in public, any time I feel compelled to do so.

The so-called “Left” is filled with fools trying to redefine all of morality to please their own appetites. I refuse to join them. No matter how much people lie about me, threaten me, physically punish me, whatever. I will not bow down and worship your golden calves, no matter WHAT your politicians tell me…

In replay to your last comment and to kind of get into what some of the others have said every president has met the Dali Lama. Obama snubbed him. The Chinese need to sell to us as much as we want then cheep goods. It needs to stop, but we are in better shape then you might think.

I only read 1/2 of your comment to tiny the reason why is it was just to painful. The congress starts all bills for raising revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives. Please read Article 1 sec 7 of the U.S. Constitution. The Congress has a large place in this. Hint Barney Frank called a bunch of bankers bigots to force them to give bad loans, then when things go south he blames the banks. Now wants the banks to do the same thing for condos.

Just a little comment here…Jesus also said “Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, and unto God what is God’s”. I agree, actions, not words, are what was spoken about those many years ago. Nowadays, it’s walk the walk, not talk the talk. Not many in Congress can even stumble appropriately, much less stand on their own two feet. Their backbones are made of jelly, their houses, of straw, and their feet stand in clay. Pretty much worthless, from the top down. It’s time to sweep the house clean, as it were, and start anew. Doubt it will happen…..much to our discomfort and pain.

    and scott …

if it ain’t irony, then it’s hypocrisy.

and ohbytheway … you’re the one dropping labels.

left co-opting moral issues … that’s rich … you must be ignoring the “moral majority” and the “religious right”

the difference between us … is that you deign to judge me without knowing a thing about me. you seem to have pigeonholed me to a complete set of thoughts without knowing the whole picture. i, on the other hand, find your display of moral pomposity to be arrogant, crass, self-serving and distasteful, but i still believe that you might have something of value to contribute to our society … but only if you could stop the screaming, shouting and damnation long enough to try understand the views of those you disagree with.
