I am not sure what your argument from yesterday was. Regan did not take office till Jan of 81 just like Obama took office of this year. Operation Eagle Claw happened in April of 80 and yes the hostages were taken in 79. This was after Carter thought the Ayatollah Khomeini would be great and was all sweetness and light.
Carter’s state department went to see Khomeini before he returned to Iran. The idea was to show off American’s religious tolerance. They came back said Khomeini was a saint. We all know different.
So yes the only time we have been able to deal with Iran is with strong measures but Obama will not use strong measures
About today’s strip:
Bush is a Fascist for 8 years the Dailykos, Moveon.org. Calling every body of the last administration a war criminal. All the while the Dem ran ACRON voter registration scams. Yea that is about right.

Now I may be wrong but there may be a purpose behind an Executive branch, a Judicial branch, and a legislative branch, Someone thought so a long time ago. Later someone thought two political parties might be a good thing, They might have been right. It’s interesting to watch the pendulum swing. For some unknown reason, the party in power ticks off the electorate.
bmwk12ltc said, 29 days ago
Actually no one ever thought 2 parties would be a good idea, For some reason America has just mostly had 2 parties in the majority. There have been times when there were more than 2 parties and some of them have gone away and others have taken their place. Eventually these 2 parties will probably go away and some others will take their place if this country can stay out of totalitarianism by Bureaucracy which seems to be the way we are headed.

No matter how many years I live I will never forget the literally insane manner in which the Demoncrats blamed Bush for everything real and imagined–everything from a massive terrorist attack to natural disasters, to a delay in seasonal flu vaccine production, to you-name-it.
The Demoncrats convinved me once and for all they are the party of treason, slander, and corruption. I consider them no better than Germany’s old National Socialist Party, and would rejoice if they ceased to exist once and for all–as should have happened after the Civil War.

And thanks to the two parties in place, there never will be a third party.

Well, let’s see here, Einstein:
September 11th? That happened on the Oil Slick’s watch.
The Katrina Disaster? The Oil Slick said, “We never anticipated that the levies would break” This after years of warnings from engineers.
Afghanistan? The Oil Slick went to Iraq.
Iraq? There were no weapons. Almost 5000 soldiers died for nothing. Manhattan was hit by Saudi’s, btw.
Torture? The Oil Slick’s administration said we didn’t do it. We did.
This list goes on. The Oil Slick sat in the White House for eight years, and the Red Menace doesn’t think he was responsible for ANYTHING. You need to go back to school (grammar school, it looks like), and maybe throw in a typing course, for good measure. Also, do a Wiki search for that German Party you Reds are so fond of mentioning. If you know how to read (a fair question), you might learn something. As to the War Against Treason, it was the Progressives that fought to free the slaves, not the old guard, conservative slave owners. Those good Christian Americans wanted to continue to own human beings, and advocated the overthrow of the government.
Send me a post card from the nineteenth century. Better still, don’t.

Revisionism is a “Progressive” achievement. In the war between the states, the Republicans were the ones who freed the slaves. Lincoln was a Republican. The Southern Democrats wanted the status-quo - that is to keep their slaves - and tried to secede from the union in order to do so. The Union side of that conflict was to keep the US intact, the CSA side was to create their own country where slavery was legal and accepted. The Emancipation Proclamation was issued by Lincoln during that war.
It’s amazing to me that the revisionists manage to keep people believing that the Democrats freed the slaves when it was the Republicans (which was a brand new party at the time) who did so.

Yesterday’s SOTU is a rehash of earlier strips & it’s sometimes difficult to find something “New & Interesting”. That’s when the “usual” mudslinging begins & folks start insulting one another.
Speaking of mudslinging - here’s what I found while googling for the originations of the Democratic use of a Donkey Mascot - From Ask.com - Best Answer:
“When Andrew Jackson ran for president in 1828, his opponents tried to label him a “jackass” for his populist views and his slogan, “Let the people rule.” Jackson, however, picked up on their name calling and turned it to his own advantage by using the donkey on his campaign posters. During his presidency, the donkey was used to represent Jackson’s stubbornness when he vetoed re-chartering the National Bank.”

I don’t think Abraham Lincoln would recognize the Republican Party of Today. There’s a meanness that’s evolved since the 1860’s - perhaps the Republicans should adopt the Tyrannosaurus Rex as their mascot.
Oops I forgot, Carl used that big old Dino to represent the Pope - and without clothes!

You are extremely disrespectful. I assume that if I started to absolutely insult Emperor Obama you’d be the first to cry about it.
Let me add to your comments please:
“September 11th? That happened on the Oil Slick’s watch.”
Yes several MONTHS in to his watch, all started from Clinton’s ignorance.
“The Katrina Disaster? The Oil Slick said, “We never anticipated that the levies would break” This after years of warnings from engineers.”
So now it is the Presidents responsibility to take care of other states stupidity? Shouldn’t New Orleans mayor be the one held responsible or even LA’s Governor?
“Afghanistan? The Oil Slick went to Iraq.”
We started in Afghanistan then seen Saddam posing a real threat and to free the country AND to take down that tyrant that has attacked us in the past and has caused lots and lots of issues in the world. Thank you President Bush for removing this insane tyrant from Iraq!
“Iraq? There were no weapons. Almost 5000 soldiers died for nothing. Manhattan was hit by Saudi’s, btw.”
There were weapons EVERYONE that can think knows this, where did they go? Well after 23 UN resolutions (plenty of time to hid them) maybe Syria? As well, Iraq was a different war for different reasons. He harbored terrorists and had 23 UN resolutions to give up or hide those weapons.
“Torture? The Oil Slick’s administration said we didn’t do it. We did. ”
OMG!!!
We poured water on a terrorists head to make him mentally think he is drowning. What do you presume we do? Put him in a comfy chair with a comfy pillow? Or maybe we should have just done to him what he did to our prisoners. Remember the helicopter mechanic or even Nick Berg .
When has Obama done?
Tried to force HIS idiotic healthcare plan down our throats with little information about it and nothing but lies behind it. Took over GM. Gave BILLIONS away in ignorance making our grandchildren pay it all back. Printed billions with nothing backing it up pushing forward inflation. Which means he has tripled the deficit Bush caused (remember war is not affordable, but at times necessary to keep freedom). He is desperately trying to remove free speech especially if it is negative speech about him. Push sex in schools, push homosexual sex in schools, push abortions and make tax payers pay for it. RAISE taxes to a new level. Raise taxes on all business. Destroy coal industries (this is about 50% of electric gone them) by raising taxes. As well he is quite possibly illegal. That man is dangerous and needs to be impeached.

More Reds that can’t read.
Yes, it was the Republicans that were against slavery. The Republicans (read this slowly, now) WERE the Progressives. I didn’t say Republican or Democrat, I said Progressive and Conservative. Every history student in the eighth grade knows this. Why don’t you?
I’m, disrespectful? You Reds kill me. scottfreitas ends his rant by calling the Democrats,. “the party of treason, slander, and corruption,” and I’m disrespectful? The Red Menace is made up of a group of whiny bullies who can’t even take a counter-punch. No surprise the Red Menace is down to 20% in this country.
When Manhattan was hit on Clinton’s watch, he hunted down the terrorists, arrested them, tried them, and incarcerated them. It wasn’t Clinton that ignored the PDB that said, “Bin-Laden determined to attack the United States.” Did you hear that? The Oil Slick IGNORED IT! The men that Clinton put away, remain there to this day, and will still be there when you’re an old drooling Red (drooling even more than you do now). Fun how the Menace wants to exonerate the Oil Slick for “inheriting” September 11, but wants to blame Obama for all eight years of the thuggery that preceded him. Stupid? Hypocrites? Both?
Katrina. Yep, it was the Fed’s responsibility to be full engaged. It was called FEMA, which the Oil Slick put in the capable hands of an Arabian horse expert. There is, btw, sufficient blame to be shared with the mayor and the governor, yes.
Afghanistan. I don’t even understand what the hell you said, it was so incoherent, but “Thank you President” for nothing. There are tyrants all over the world. He went in and got the one that was holding up oil production. Why? Simple, he’s an oil man. So’s, Cheney, so are most of the people in his administration.
Torture. Do you even KNOW about human rights? International law? The Geneva Conventions? The rest of the planet??? This one’s not even worth pouring energy into, you’re so flippin’ ignorant.
As to your post about Obama’s pushing “homosexual sex in schools,” he’s done nothing of the kind. He”s pushing for tolerance of everyone. You can’t accept it because you’re a nasty bigot (yes, anti-homosexualism is bigotry too). And his health care agenda? Oh yeah, taking care of the least among us is really an evil concept. I’m done here. You’re just too empty for words.
Hey Carl, great audience you got, here!

muzkfctry,
If Clinton has ALL the men who were responsible for the ‘94 WTC attacks put away, 9/11 wouldn’t have happened.
And yes, I also blame the Bush administration for not doing more right away as well.
For FEMA to respond to ANYTHING, the governor of affected state MUST declare a state of emergency and put forth a formal request for federal assistance, including FEMA. If I’m not mistaken, it was well after Katrina hit before the formal request was made by Blanco. And given the scope of the disaster, I really don’t think FEMA did THAT bad of a job… just my opinion (I was part of the relief effort as my nat’l guard unit assisted)
You cry about the previous administration being all “oil men” yet the current administration are all ACORN and other ultra-liberal organization cronies…
Do I agree with the war in Iraq? Yes and no. It was justified but poorly timed. Afghanistan should have been finished first. Do I agree with how it was all handled? NO! Let the generals fight the wars! Politicians need to stay out! They do not know how to fight wars. Most politicians today did not serve, if they did, most had connections to keep them out of combat. (That’s on the left AND the right) Only military know how to fight a war. There were plenty of Dems who voted to give Bush the authority to enter into a conflict with Iraq, and they had access to the same Intel reports Bush did. If they did not agree, they should have voted “no”. So the Dems hold just as much responsibility as the Republicans do.
Do YOU know anything about the Geneva Convention??? We are authorized to hold those prisoners as long as the conflict goes on. Then, and only then, are we required to release them. The Geneva convention also states that torture is considered as anything that permanently maims or scars an individual. Waterboarding is not torture under the definition of the Geneva Convention. Interrogation is fully authorized.
His health care plan is a sick joke. Why? Because the left completely refuses to fully disclose it. There is not one person in America today who cannot get life saving healthcare. It is required by law. What you and others seem to want is to get it all for free. Guess what, someone has to pay for it. Who will that be? By time it’s all said and done, it will only be the hard working folks paying for it, while the lazy and apathetic reap the benefits. Is reform needed? Sure, but the left is going about it all wrong. Why should I pay for something someone else is perfectly capable of getting for themselves if they just worked as hard as I have? Selfish? Nope. Unless you count those who want something for free…
I also like how you ignored the fact that Obama has authorized OUR tax dollars to pay for abortions in other countries. But yet, those of you on the left sit back and cry about Bush’s wasteful spending. (yes, i agree he spent carelessly much of the time)
muzkfctry, you are nothing more than a party hack. Your party does no wrong, and only the opposing party does wrong.
Until we, as Americans get pas this type of mentality, we cannot move forward and regain the promise this nation once held…
sablebrush5 said, 29 days ago
I actually heard this at a party, listening to this liberal boob talking about the Republicans’ opposition to Obama:
“They whine that he’s not being truthful. They label him with words like “socialist,” and “liberal fascist.” That kind of rhetoric is dangerous. Why can’t the Republicans be as gracious as the Democrats were when they had to put up with 8 years of that lying idiot Bush.””
Roger said, 29 days ago
Bush was constantly portrayed as a monkey, as Hitler, etc. The left spewed the most outrageous hatred toward him from the day he took office. But now, as they always do, they rewrite history and portray themselves as having been so unbiased, so respectful and it’s just the Republicans being nasty to their lord Obamessiah, when they’ve always been respectful toward the Republicans!
And as for the constant garbage about Bush controlling Oil, then why didn’t he make sure prices were down during the election? Having extremely high oil prices in the summer of 2008 really hurt the Republicans a lot. There were other times as well, where if Bush controlled oil, he could have brought down the price to help him politically, then raised it at other times. Funny, maybe oil like most other worldwide commodities, is out of the hands of any individual or company- Muslim Arabs, Communist Chavez, corrupt Putin and others who have the oil seem to be the ones with more influence, but the left would have nothing if they couldn’t use Bush/Cheney as their eternal boogeyman, even a year after Obama was elected.

Bush was just a “pretty face” = Cheney was/is the puppeteer. Having “Cheney Pick Cheney” as his VP was the biggest mistake Bush made right at the start of his run for Presidency.
Cheney is still voicing his opinions about things that R Out Of His Control (At Least Overtly),,,
How many of U giggled when you read the write-up about his award acceptance speech saying Obama was “Dithering”… Later switched to “Afraid” in the Headlines.
Who uses Dithering? Sounds like something an Elderly Woman would say while clutching her hands while trying to decide what to wear to the Opera.
mroberts88 said, 29 days ago
I heard liberals say, during the Bush years “he’s not my president, I didnt vote for him.” Now, they are saying that Obama should be our president, regardless of whether we voted for him or not. We need to move on from one party is good, and can do no wrong, and the other can do no right.
Freedom for all, not just for some.

More Obama change
For all your liberals you can view some of the information on the “The Pedophile
Protection Act” hate crimes bill at www.afa.net. There is a hotlink on the right side. Here is a summary of it.
In its never-ending quest to shred America’s Judeo-Christian value system,
the left is planning to hurriedly push through a “thought crimes” Bill.
So-called “hate crimes” laws are really laws that criminalize
thought, because they punish an individual not for what he did but for what he
Thought. Politically incorrect thoughts about homosexual behavior will
result in enhanced criminal sanctions under this law.
Everywhere hate crimes laws have gone into effect, they have been
quickly used to intimidate, silence and punish people of faith who express
deeply held religious objections to the normalization of
Homosexuality.
Such laws not only punish officially disapproved speech and thought, they
create two tiers of victims. Under hate crimes laws, some victims get more
protections than others, which violates the fundamental American principle of
equality under the law.
In fact, such laws actively discriminate against heterosexual Christians who
are victims of crime, since they will get less legal protection than homosexual
Victims.
And since “sexual orientation is nowhere defined in the
legislation, this law will give pedophiles, voyeurs, and exhibitionists special
protections, which is why the bill has correctly been called “The Pedophile
Protection Act”
The left has shrewdly and malevolently attached this so-called “hate crimes”
language to a Defense Appropriations bill, and efforts by Republicans in
Congress to remove the language from the Defense bill failed Tuesday night on a
party line vote.

Good point…I posted this yesterday pointing out how empty the argument is
“…For those who feel George Bush, et al (you know, the American oil cartel) controls our oil supply, consider…Since we (the USA) have NO control over OPEC, would it not be logical that Herbert Walker Bush would NOT have invaded Iraq to liberate Kuwait, thus insuring mega-profits (gawd I LOVE these new hyphenated words we come up with!) for American producers via the old tested and true ‘Supply and Demand’?”
