Has there ever been a more irresponsible, preposterous ex-president than Jimmy Carter? Instead of graciously disappearing into the mists of history, the poor boob has been desperately trying to undo his failed presidency for 30 years now and all he does is look more and more ridiculous with each passing year.
Having interfered with every president’s foreign policy since Reagan, he still thinks he’s God’s gift to American foreign policy.
And now, being from the South and thus an expert on race, he deems it necessary to educate us on the racism of Obama’s critics.
A kind, loving and spiritual man, his legacy is a tragic one of buffoonery, desperation, and irrelevancy. That he thinks he’s building a grand reputation for seriousness speaks sadly to how far he has wandered from reality.

I think Carter’s legacy will be fine. I don’t think he’s “interfered” all that much but it certainly is beneficial to have the wisdom of former presidents to call on sometimes. There have been a few times he’s said things that I wish he hadn’t but far more often he’s spoken the truth that needed to be said. And remember, many of his statements, like those on Obama and race, he was asked for comment. Funny how two people who SHOULD know about race and its problems, Obama and Carter, are either taken lightly and disregarded for their comments or called racist themselves.

I’ve been calling Osama “Jimmy Carter 2” since the moment he entered the 2008 Demoncrat primaries.
We can only hope that, like the PeaNUT Farmer, Osama loses his bid for re-election to a serious GOP Conservative.
Sarah Palin would work for me simply because I’d like the first chick president to be a Margaret Thatcher type, rather than a Nutsy Pelosi type. Any chick the Demoncrats nominate will be a Nutsy Pelosi clone, you can bank on it…

Jimmy Carter as president was an embarrassment to America, and he’s become worse with age.
Barack Obama is beyond an embarrassment; he’s a danger. He wants to metastasize government power into every corner of the economy, he has no interest in defending America, and he thinks there’s nothing special about the greatest country in history. One term will be enough.
But Palin, and any other Repub who believes Adam and Eve rode around on dinosaurs, would be worse yet. If there is any decent GOP prospect out there, I’ve yet to see him/her. (I really liked Fred Thompson. I think a lazy president would be great for the country, but then he’s too lazy to get elected.)

Did Jimmy go to a foreign nation we have no diplomatic relations with and there act as an unappointed diplomat? I think another former president did the same thing recently. but the dictator of that nation just needed a photo-op.

Carter was a micro-manager, so the ‘big picture’ didn’t get managed.
Reagan depended on his staff, and got Iran-Contra.
Clinton’s health care plan failed because he didn’t involve Congress from the beginning.
Obama involved Congress in health care reform from the beginning.
I liked Ike! And wish that Arnold were eligible now. And mourn the disappearance of civility and the middle ground.

Jimmy Carters Center for Government’s purpose is to show how right he was when he was president. I am sorry but he was not a good president. We did have huge unemployment, interest rates and inflation. It took us most of the Reagan years to pull our self’s out. The birth of Iran as a terror state and the return of the Ayatollah happened on his watch. The Soviets went into Afghanistan on his watch. We are still paying for that. Afghanistan was a fine nation before Carter.
Carter has acted as an unofficial diplomat in Egypt when asked not to by the Clinton admin. No ex-president liked him. Clinton couldn’t stand him. He has caused trouble for Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush2 and now with his own racist remark which was saying how people who criticize Obama are racist; has caused trouble for Obama and yes I know how dumb that sounds. I said it he did it, which is worse?
I am sorry but this country has out grown Jimmy Carter. We are so far past him and what he thinks of this country it is kind of sad. He dose not know what is best for America. I am beginning to think the same for Obama.
Say what you will about Clinton, Obama did ask him to do that job in Korea.

And compared to Palin, GWB is a frikkin’ genius.

Jimmy Carter needs to dissapear from the public eye for a while. Just because I didnt vote for Obama, nor agree with some of his policies, does not make me a racist.

Seems Carter has something that Speaks For The Man:
”Jimmy Carter WINS Nobel Peace Prize
Friday, October 11, 2002”
“OSLO, Norway (CNN) – Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter won the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for what presenters cited as decades of work seeking peaceful solutions and promoting social and economic justice.”
http://archives.cnn.com/2002/WORLD/europe/10/11/carter.nobel/index.html
Seems The World Has Noticed The Works Of A Man Ya’ll like to make fun of - laughs on U dudes.
Former President Carter INHERITED the Mess Nixon’s Cronies Made - Sounds like what happened again last year… some of the characters were involved in both Republican Administrations.

One of the most intelligent THINGS I have ever read !?!
” Bush-dick ”
Almost as intelligent as ” The Senator from Massachusetts with a blond in every body of water in New England “.

They also gave the Nobel to Al Gore and KOFI ANNAN who ran a particularly corrupt United Nations. A few others they have regretted to over the years.
When some historian or at least a professional historian writes a history of the Carter years they will go to the library of congress and the Presidential libraries from Carter to Obama. All after Carter will show he was at best difficult to get along with. Ted Kennedy’s memoir said Carter could not listen to anyone and Kennedy could not stand the man. So you got five presidents and a Senator who all said he was not very smart.
Oh and guys Palin is a lot smarter then people think She is getting seven million for a book deal before a single copy has been sold. She did something right. Also it was Tina Fey who said “I can see Russian from my House”. Palan said that “I have friends in Alaska who can see Russia from there Homes” and you know she dose. There is a small island less then a half a mile off the Alaskan cost and if you live on its west shore you can see Russia. So keep that in mind both sides when you see SNL making fun of Obama over the next three years. Pay back is a (well you know).

Jack, people are getting more than that just for getting drafted into the NFL. They may very well turn out to be busts. Jack, why should she be president?

Jehosaphat,
The Nobel Prize was given to Carter and Gore for political reasons = to repudiate GWB. There have been fare more talented people who have been overlooked.

If Sarah Palin such an incompentent candidate, why are the members of the main stream media and the “Demopublicians” feel threatened. As for Jimmy Carter,
the man had a movie made after him. The main character was gender was changed out of sympathy for him.
Hint: Alicia Silverstone was the main character.

I never said she should but sense you asked as Gov. she cleaned out her own party first then the Democrats second. After being asked to run for VP the political attacks started on her through the courts were she defend her self from 10 indictments. All were thrown out. She is clean as a whistle; she left office because of the impossible financial burden from those attacks.
Now she has 7mil and I should correct myself from before, her books pre-sold so the number will go up as they start moving through the books stores. Some of the people who attacked her should be real scared a liable suite may be coming.
She now has enough money to influence a few races. Palin the kingmaker. She might be good at that. She did for Alaska what every President says they want to do for the U.S. So lets elect Sarah.

That’s right, folks! Carl Moore’s apparent prescription for what ails our nation: less honesty, more corruption, and greater hubris in global affairs.

Al Gore & Jimmy Carter are WELL KNOWN (and made fun of regularly by Carl Moore & covered in previous strips). I googled to learn more about Mr Annan:
“Kofi Annan The Nobel Peace Prize 2001”
“Kofi A. Annan of Ghana, the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations…”
“…The Secretary-General has strengthened partnerships with civil society, the private sector and others outside of government whose strengths complement those of the UN. He has called for a “Global Compact” to encourage businesses to respect standards relating to the environment, employment laws and human rights. In April, 2000, he issued a report on the UN’s role in the 21st century, outlining actions needed to end poverty and inequality, improve education, cut HIV/AIDS, safeguard the environment and protect peoples from violence. The report formed the basis of the Millennium Declarations adopted by national leaders attending the UN Millennium Summit that September.”
“Since the terrorist attacks hit the United States on 11 September 2001, the Secretary-General has played a leading role in galvanizing global action through the General Assembly and the Security Council to combat terrorism. The Secretary-General has received honorary degrees from universities in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America, as well as a number of other prizes and awards for his contributions to the aims and purposes of the United Nations.”

“Little Diomede Island, Alaska, sits just over two miles to the east of Big Diomede Island, Russia. The Islands are separated not only by national affiliation, but also by the International Dateline, which runs through the small stretch of Bering Sea between the island group. Little Diomede is flat-topped, steep-sided and very isolated by its location, by rough seas, and by the persistent fog that shrouds the island during the warmer months.”
Area = 2 Square Miles

There’s also a photo of “homes” on a hillside - wonder how many are “friends” with Former Gov. Palen?

I can’t understand why people think Gore and Carter won Nobels to repudiate Bush. Is EVERYTHING always about your own candidate? Do you think NO ONE can see past one person and his or her own successes or failures? As for Palin, what she did for Alaska was quit, which may have been best for them.
JmcaRice said, about 1 month ago
Vasmosn - its a free country and for the record I did not like GWB. Its good to see you are one of the open minded ones.
