OK; I’m going to reveal myself for the comic book geek that I am. Disney bought Marvel Comics; Batman is the property of DC Comics, Marvel’s biggest rival. Disney does not own Batman.
Warner Brothers does.

Yet.
“Warner Brothers does. ”
So far. By this time next week…? Who knows?

Bugs and Daffy have no interest in letting Mickey and Donald get their mitts on Batman.
No, I’m comfortable saying that for the forseeable future, Batman will be Loony Toons. But these days, the Avengers are a Mickey Mouse operation - as are the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man.

if carl was wrong about this… what is he ever right about… besides being RIGHT about everything that is… this is one poor comic today…

Dang, you beat me to it, dataweaver! Maybe he meant to use Wolverine?
I don’t think Carl would let the facts get in the way of a joke, whether his point is right or wrong.

Hey, dataweaver (and the rest)
“But these days, the Avengers are a Mickey Mouse operation - as are the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man. ”
That could bring up nice new possibilities:
Gyro Gearloose, together with his lightbulb assisting X-men :-)

Dataweaver, you’re right on the money. Being a bit of a comic geek myself (I own somewhere around 13,000 comics) I found myself talking back to the monitor this morning….

Off the topic of the strip, but, today, the wife of one of our regular opiners, MyTinyTown, delivers their baby, little Gracie. So, everyone, think good thoughts about a new baby girl.

Wow - Imagine that - Carl Moore doing a strip he didn’t even research – what are the odds?
Batman wasn’t “ordinary” before the mask and he is a DC Comic.
What’s his problem with Disney buying Marvel anyway? I for one can’t wait to see Wolverine in Cinderella’s castle. But, that’s probably because I collect DC, Vertigo, and IDW.

David, so todays the day is it? Hopefully all will end up well, with no complications. What super powers does Batman have? He’s more like a ninja than a super hero. So long as disney doesnt get into adult movies and shows. (Full Metal Jacket, Apocolypse Now, etc.) I’m ok with it.

mytinytown - hope all went well with your new born child & your wife’s planned c-sect delivery today.
Thanks DavidDow (Liberal) for the reminder - mytinytown (NeoConservative) shared a few months ago that his unborn child was having difficulties. One of the “nice things” I notice in this forum - even with all the disagreements in political opinions - a few commenters take the time out to wish another well.
That’s what it means to me to be “Liberal” - thinking about the welfare (health) of others (not just giving out welfare $$).

To quote the echo from The Grinch, Mister Moore…
“You’re an idiot!”
Batman wears the mask because it protects people close to him from being harmed. It lets him go from a man to an ideal/symbol.
More importantly, Disney owns Miramax and Touchstone. Not exactly family friendly movies everywhere.
GIVE UP WITH THIS SCHTICK. It isn’t funny.

You would think a guy who draws comics would know something about comics.
If I had any respect for Moore I might have lost some here.

Could it be possible that Bruce Wayne secretly owns Marvel?
mroberts88 said, about 1 month ago
Rhad, he’s rich, he probably does.

I usually just ignore this strip as unworthy of my time and comment. but when a cartoonist(!) is this far off base about a toon icon like The Batman, gotta say something. Glad to see I need not have worried!

Mazel tov ! MyTinyTown .
Myself , being more a comic book accumulator , than collector . I would echo the previous comments .
A practitioner of the sequential arts , such as Mr. Moore , making a mistaken statement about one of the comic book icons . One might think , perhaps he’s having a bit of fun at our expense . ; )

Carl: First rule in depicting superheroes: Don’t mix-up the DC’s with the Marvel’s! Pay attention!

I think I might agree with Jim here ; everyone is freaking out over the “supposed” mix up ; but what if it was intentional?I’ve never even read this series before so I’m not defending. I will have to say though, seeing all the infuriated comments was funnier than the strip itself !
dataweaver said, about 1 month ago
I’ll definitely grant that several of the comments were funnier than the strip itself - though not in the way that onthebrink implies.
