There is no need to fund art to mock christianity. It mocks itself.

Consider what has been written & will be written regarding Negative Reactions to some controversial NEA Funded Projects (like the one SomeGup53 want’s U to look at in the Wiki Ref).
Here’s what The NEA Funding Is Really About & A Quote From George W. Bush - something good that happened during his Presidency!
“November 10, 2005: President and Mrs. Bush celebrate the 40th anniversary of the National Endowments for the Arts and Humanities”
“In recognizing the success and accomplishments of the two agencies over the last 40 years, as well as under the current chairmanships of NEA Chairman Dana Gioia and NEH Chairman Bruce Cole, President Bush said, “…under their visionary leadership, America’s programs to support the arts and humanities have continued to enrich our nation’s cultural and civic life.””

Art should be supported by the market. Everything else is. They could market it on 2 AM infomercials. Corporate America is always supporting the arts as a tax dodge.

The crucifix in the glass of pee . Good place for it . If he had long hair he would have been stoned , and not with grass . No beards until after marriage. The word translated cross in the Bible ” stauros” 4716 Strong’s number is ” an upright pale or stake post . Don’t believe me look it up your self if it matters to you . The cross is truly holy to Nazis , the KKK , Witches, devil worship, pagans , voodoo and good people who don’t know .

Just wish I knew what being prochoice had to do with art?
And BTW the toon says a lot about Mr. Moore being scared of a strong female and shows his need to degrade a female with strong values. Dem first ladies might have their stigmas but they do use thier title better than those obedient rep wives.

After Jack made an interesting point about farleft I don’t care to come here anymore. I think I need to find a new comic to comment on.
An suggestions? Maybe I should find the most radical left wing comic and stay up till o’dark 30 and rip it apart everyday. I’d be cool then.
Can anyone tell me why Steve Benson is on the right and left?

Hey! At least he didn’t do something that honours Christianity! He should have gone to Hugh Hefner for the grant. Was of taxpayer’s money.

Aside from all the Red Herrings thrown into this discussion, can’t we all agree that taxpayer funding of anything aside from protection of our borders and some small regulatory interstate commerce is absurd? One can “justify” public funding for any pet project or pork by saying, “Well, YOU all did it for YOUR favorite thing” and ergo we end up with the bloated, out-of-control monstrosity of a government we now have - both sides are to blame. Why not just put an end to ALL non-essential spending and then we, the people, will have more of our own money to spend (or not spend) on whatever we want. The Christians get to buy religious art and books, the atheists and “avante-garde” get to buy their crucifixes in urine, and I guess someone will still keep buying the velvet paintings of various religions and political figures.

My tiny town,
I read Jack’s remarks concerning far left as Carl Moore. He had some examples, the book deal may have been the only thing worth considering.
Far left is usually the first to comment on numerous comic strips. I believe this strip offends him so much that he is the first one to leave a comment in an attempt to bring discredit to the strip. I believe the strips come up at midnight CST.
So if the previous remarks about far left is true, he is just waiting for the strips to come up.
Others has said, “far left is on mental health meds, living at home with his parents with no job. This is all that he does.”
If he is on the left coast the strips are up at 10 PM and if he is in Hawaii the new strips are up in the evening.
I do not know where you are located but go their tonight around midnight CST and see how few comments are their.
You can also look at the other strips far left leaves comments on. They are the ones I usually skip. This is the only political strip he leaves comments on.
There is political slant strips that has small battles going on everyday. He is never their for some reason.
He could have multiple accounts with gocomics as well.

How does supporting the arts make you a liberal?
If the government didnt support the arts, who would? The wealthy? Then the only art we’d get is the kind that they approve of. I suppose big business could patronize the arts. Just remember what happened to sports when businesses began to support them What do we call Madison Square Garden now? Or Candlestick Park? Are we ready for the 3-Com Mona-Lisa?
We need public support of the arts. It is what makes us more than ignorant punks. And I don’t mind paying for art that I think is stupid, or controversial. It’s what helps make us a more diverse society. Instead of a mob of cookie cutter clones.

“If the government didnt support the arts, who would?”
Not MY problem. Why should I sport them against my will?

Really? Are you so certain? Stupid art makes you smarter, is this what you mean? How? That confuses me.

No No MyTinyTown - I Am Carl Moore (can’t remember the movie - but it’s one of those mystery ones). No Not Really - disclaimer for those who can’t tell a joke without dis-claimers.
I still don’t believe their is a Living Carl Moore (see other theories regarding Multiple Carl Moore(s). My theory is based on Norman Bates’s Mother in Alfred Hitchcock’s “PSYCHO”
MyTinyTown – (I think farleftside is just “pulling your leg” after your comment:

Grey2112 -
That is exactly what Thomas Jefferson did when he became president. He went through the Constitution, line by line and made a list of the things it said he had to do as president. There were three:
1 - Run the Post Office
2 - Run a Customs Office to collect import fees. (This was a primary source of revenue for the government.
3 - Run the US Census office.
This was basically the government under Jefferson. Nowhere does it say we HAVE to have a military, so Jefferson got rid of most of it. At one point in Jefferson’s administration the entire government consisted of only a few hundred people.
Can we live like this today? Why not? It’s basically the same Constitution, after all. What would it take? The states rising up and refusing to allow the government to interfere with what is properly STATES business. No where in the Constitution does it say the federal government should have anything to do with schools. And yet we have a Cabinet level Department of Education. According to the Constitution such a department should actually have nothing to do. And yet they control a budget of billions of dollars.
People on this page have called me a liberal. That’s because they don’t know me and they honestly don’t understand what the heck they’re talking about. If it was up to me the I’d wipe out nearly all the federal government and leave things up to the states themselves. If the voters of a state want to close their schools and give themselves 100% free health care, let them. It’s their choice.
Health care should be STATES business. You know why we don’t have it? Because all the states are sitting back, waiting to see what the Feds will do. Why should we spend a ton of money when the Federal goverment is going to make us go it a different way? So instead of having state wide health care we have nation wide nothing.
The same goes for education. The federal government has billions of dollars for education which they hold hostage. State and local school boards kiss the big federal butt in order to get that money. They gotta swallow a big load of ‘No Child Left Behind’ (thanks to Governor Bush) just to keep the cash coming in.
Grey2112 - I agree with you. What we need is for the states to raise up and demand their rights back. I’m not some Rebel Flag waving redneck. I love the United States and I want good things for it. But our leaders have failed us, we need to band together and hold them accountable.

Mytinytown,
On each of the political slant comic strips there is someone or a group of people waiting to bring discredit to anyone whom leaves a conservative remark.
There is a handful of them from Canada and the comments are usually on Obama and the democrats. Of course they love Obama and the democrats.
Then there are groups of liberals that completely take over a strip such as big top every day. Sometimes they have fall outs. Then they will move some of them over to another strip and hijack it. They talk about eating breakfast together. This goes on for a few pages.
They always complain about conservative remarks.
Jack’s remarks could be true.
This could be the conspiracy theory.
I also was told that there is a physiological test that law enforcement has to take and one of the questions is on comic strips. Such as, is the comics the only part of the paper you read.
With all this said I believe a majority of the people reading go comics are liberals, homosexuals, tree huggers, fur huggers, democrats, traitors, Muslims, green peace, etc., etc.

Use majority in a Sentence
–noun, plural -ties.
I said majority not all. You could break down all the comments and approx. 70% is coming from the left.

Just reading some comments made. If Farfey is not Carl Moore he better watch out. He’s got himself a real stalker. The other day he was talking about my Mom shooting me with a .45. The guys is over the top.

Butt for Bloaks like StripPer77 - I take DE-LIGHT in bringing some attention to his/hers/its comments. The “Automatic Sensor Detector Software that Bleeps Out “Bad Words” is probably Working Overtime when Stripper77 makes his “curse-ive” rants.
OK – Stripper77 – AKA _.( Imposter??)
Re: “I said majority not all. You could break down all the comments and approx. 70% is coming from the left.”
I see ##’s without a reliable referencing source.
Do U just Make Stuff Up OR Do U:
Actually take the time to go thru ALL the Comics & Editorial Cartoons
Make a ”tick (like the kind that bites) mark” on a sheet of paper
AND THEN Talley up how many comments are in each category?
Hummmm - I’d rather take my dog out on a walk - beautiful weather today - not as hot as earlier this week.

His numbers might be off because his definition of liberal is actually, itself, liberal. For the record, there is no politics over at big top, so how would you know if liberals hijacked it?

I don’t care who FLS is or what kind of life he leads. I just think it’s funny how you all pay so much attention to him. Talk about your stalkers. When he misses a day there are more posts about him than anything else. If FLS is starved for attention you guys feed him up good. Carl Moore ought to pay FLS for all the traffic he brings to this place. My guess? FLS is a carnival barker, the guy who stands out front of a place and insults all the rubes and they come in just to shut him up. Pavlov’s dogs couldnt be more predictable than some of y’all.

If the NEA was funding “art” that offended libs, they’d be screaming bloody murder- though the NEA being a far left organization, it would never do so.
It’s just like freedom of speech and many other issues- the left are all for it as long as they agree with it, or simply don’t disagree with it, but when it “offends” them, then it is hate speech or some other label that excludes it from protection.
