Cap and Trade makes absolutely no sense. Without the participation of China, India, and many other 2nd and 3rd world countries, the U.S. effort at CO2 reduction will result not in a one-tenth degree reduction in the overall CO2 emissions in thirty years, it will result in no reduction in one-hundred years.
What it will mean, however, is that U.S. businesses will be put at a competitive disadvantage in relation to China, India etc. Is that what we want? Does it make sense to load a huge tax increase on businesses in the middle of a recession? Of course not.
We all want global warming to be dealt with but this is not the way to do it. This is just a feel-good measure for Al Gore, the Greenies and Obama. They don’t give a rat’s behind that it won’t do the job, will hurt business and cost all of us a pretty penny.
It’s a farce.

Sablebrush, I’m not going to get into the technical matters of Cap and Trade right now, but I would like to take the time to thank you for being a conservative who recognizes the dangers of global climate change. Too many folks on your side of the political spectrum simply refuse to listen to the vast majority or experts (think Someguy53 and harleyquinn, for instance).

I’m out here in the Pacific NW, too, (Port Orchard) and it was
a bummer yesterday and gonna be worse tomorrow. BUT,
there’s not a shred of evidence to indicate it was man-made.
It’s cool in Chicago, maybe if our heat is man-made then their
cool is also??????

As long as it does not include killing me or removing my religion from law because of other dis-belief. Arent there also experts that are saying that the earth is actually cooling? I just woke up, and I’m not really up and thinking yet, but if this is true, then it is a threat. I havent seen any evidence to say that global warming, or global climate change as it is now called, is man made.

They are about to record the COLDEST month of July in history.
Michigan:
Unreasonably cold in July, June was more average. I understand that some places are warmer then normal, some places are normal and others are colder. This seems to happen every year. (As well temperature taking is done in larger cities that grow and tat does cause the average temp to rise a slight bit). Also, temperature taking is becoming more and more accurate. Do any of you put this in to consideration when spouting the global warming tax plan?

Seems the worlds temp very some and go up and down like the tides do. The most important thing is that global warming is a win-win for the liberals out there. When it does not happen, they fixed the world and it is time to raise taxes even more to pay for the calibration. If by chance man somehow destroys Gods creation they can rub it in your face, see I was right and you were wrong.
Global warming question that needs answered.
How can 0.1 degree (even 0.5 or 1 full degree) cause the ice caps melt to nothing? That is pure ignorance to believe. The difference in 32 and 32.1 will not make something melt to nothing like you all claim. But you all choose to believe Gore over intellect. Or even over credible meteorologists, etc.

Two points, global warming/climate change is not based on GOOD science – glacier core drillings in Antartica show that for thousands of years there is NO correlation between C02 levels and temperature. Second, according to the 2nd law of thermodynamics, entropy must increase, which means everything creates heat – and, we as human beings are arrogant enough to think we can stop or decrease it!!! Come on guys – it’s all about the $$ and politcal control of what you and I do.

Global warming is a misnomer,same goes with climate change although that is a little closer.I think it is more like eco-system change.A totally warped ecomonic system based almost entirely on profit is trashing the entire planet.If you don’t sell more this week than last then your business is failing,however we don’t have infinite resources,so we can’t expand indefinately .The whalers put them selves out of business, Georges Bank,one to the most productive fishng places on the planet is closed,not enough fish,same goes for the Pacific,the factory ships have strip mined the top 30 feet.The Amazon forest is rapidly disappearing so you can go down to Ikea and get your $10.00 Mahogony veneer covered table,loggers in OR an WA are having trouble with timber supplies because they can’t wait long enough for the tree to mature so smaller and smaller trees are being felled.The natural resources that clean and sustain our planet are being depleted at a rate far excceding their ability to replenish ,and all this is being ignored because it’s inconvenient to your mythology or you find real science hurts your brain, and the dialog is conducted in meaningless cartoons and places like this,sorry guys but it’s your mythology that is a major contributing factor to all, and there is more than enough evidence to show people are a major factor in the change.

I would imagine your wife is Thank Full IT’s “COOLER” Than Average This Time Of Year In Michgan being so far along in her Pregnancy! It may be the result of all that “Praying” to the Weather gods for the cold weather dipping down from Central Canada into the Great Lakes (also cooling) Region!

Global climate change will not affect everyone in the same manner. Some areas will become cooler while some areas will become warmer. This is due to the dilution of salination in the worlds oceans caused by the melting of the ice caps that will change the oceanic currents, which largely affect our weather.
The raising of the temperature even 0.1 degree would hasten the melting of the icecaps because the water and the air around them have raised 0.1 degree and molecularly speaking 0.1 degree is a huge change.
What I find comical about the whole situation is how self-centered liberals are to believe that we could have such an impact on the earth, an impact that could ultimately end life. The earth by itself is an ever-changing organism; there have been temperature fluctuations through out the history of the earth that were not caused by man. At one point the earth was covered in ice, the ice age, and then it began to heat up to where we presently are; man did not cause this it is just a cycle of the earth.
We as a people do however emit a lot of CO2 but why should Americans have to foot the bill for the rest of the world with this cap and trade system. As has been stated above many other countries are not going to join in on taxing their citizens to the brink of bankruptcy so they have a “green” world image. So that means the whole idea will not work but we tax paying citizens will just be able to keep less of our money.
For Farleft side, since you like to scour the Internet and find obscure articles you should google Al Gores house and George W’s house. One is a normal mansion that consumes an enormous amount of energy to run the other is on the cutting edge of green technology. I leave it up to you to find out which one is which.

Then tell me how Man made CO2 made it hit that temp? The wet lands spit out more CO2 then man. and that is a good thing!
I am like so happy Obama can make the seas stop rising. I was just at the beach and high tide was in same place high tide has been for at least the last 4 generations. But now now I can just thank Obama for that, right?

It says nothing if Bush or Administration was keeping those pictures over Global warming. Second Antarctica is a Continent it has a lot more areas then what is mentioned. Then here you come out:

Look up the word Visceral. Get some help. There has always been temperature change in the world. They even found a village in Greenland under some ice. Is it a pollutant? Water vapor is the largest volume (95%) of atmospheric greenhouse gas.
Melting of the ice caps? Polar ice has only been present during 20% of earth’s geologic history. The earth is still recovering from the last Ice Age.
Isn’t it exhaled? CO2 is a plant food. In exchange we get oxygen to breathe…and things to eat.
Global warming? Earth’s temperatures have been significantly warmer in earlier geologic periods.
Extinction of life? Past epochs of global warming have seen abundant food production and human advancement. Ice ages, in contrast, have been times when human development slowed or even declined.

No but I am not the first to say so. Also Carl Moore did a thing on the school system excepting gays in the class room and mentioned some school books. I came back said they were real titles. I did not think they were and Mike aka farleft came back and said they were not. How did he know would not answer me. This is the reason I don’t hang out hear much anymore. Yea I know it is thin. Plus try to find something on Carl Moore a picture or anything else. Your not going to find much. Face it to Mikey this is just another social networking site.

Just to comment, as I’m a “climate change is a natural occurrence” person, out here in Wyoming we have snow forecast at 8500 feet, with the temperature in Laramie to reach a low of 36 this coming Monday…..sorry for those in a heat wave, but it is the end of July here and feels like September.

Farleftside - Usually intelligence, like these photos, is considered classified not because of what they show but because of how we got it. I’m sure this is the case with these pictures. Don’t get me wrong, Governor Bush and VP Cheney are war mongering money grubbing fools who should be in prison waiting for their firing squad.
