Funny- Rush’s popularity rating is lower than W’s. Not sure I’d call that a winner.
Farleft- I immediately went to look up Feiffer, to see if he’s still alive. Which he is. So I guess I can’t say he’s turning over in his grave…

I see that the Supreme Court once again reversed the Affirmative Action Baby’s decision.

I don’t particularly give a rat’s patoot what the new Justice’s gender or ethnicity are. And you who do, on either side of the political teeter-totter, are hypocritical jackasses.

See Ziggy this morning. With Obummer & Sotonutter in
charge you soon won’t have anything to give any thanks for.
Hey, farleftnutjob, how’s that hope & change working out
for you? How do you think it’ll work out for future generations
saddled with incomprehensible amounts of debt? I suppose
it’s working great for the generational theft crowd, eh!

Of course I think that schools, employers and the government should value race and gender over ability and track record. Oh no, the Supreme Court said otherwise yesterday. How will the minorities get preference over more deserving candidates?
rlsaxion said, 4 months ago
It is not a matter of caring about gender or ethnicity, and yes we should care about whether “Justice” is taking place. If a supreme court justice is basing their decisions on gender or ethnicity then we have a problem. Racism is not whites hatting everyone else, it is anytime someone hates another based on ethnicity…something it seems the majority of people have forgotten.

Re: Global warming hoax? Try living in an area, say Texas, this time of year…without air conditioning. Global or Not - it’s hotter than __!
Air conditioning (or swamp coolers) make it possible to live in hot and dry (or humid - Texas has both) climates. Air conditioners are also susceptible to brown outs & power failures. Pray it doesn’t happen to you - or better yet take ACTION to reduce the effects of climate change.
Any one having to deal with water restrictions this year? Or perhaps too much water flooded your neighborhood? It’s about extremes, or so I’ve heard…

If you had an employee that over half of their work has to be corrected you have a problem. I have nothing against Ms. Sotomayor’s ethnicity just her compentecy.

HA!
And I suppose MarkTrail would like for us all to forget about the utter catastrophe that Iraq was until the surge. I guess we should all forget the first time we declared our mission accomplished.
This is the type of logic that says we are right so long as the end result is as we wanted it to be. This is the logic of “might makes right” and “the ends justify the means.”
But that logic is completely wrong in the context of America. We have always been a nation of principled action. And any good conservative would not only know that, but fight like heck to ensure that what we do in the world abides by our own principles.
Iraq is a clear example of how conservative sold out their values to get the job done. Its execution is a shining example of spineless sycophants running around like headless chicken-hawks. We may have done the right thing, but we did it for the wrong reasons and we did it in the wrong way.
Don’t get me wrong: we removed a ruthless tyrant and a practitioner of genocide. But we did so in a most un-American way.
And by the way – did the surge work? Or did it empower Shi’ite death squads to push Sunnis out of Baghdad?
We would be wise not to believe the flashy headlines about the “success” of the surge, because once the Sunnis were out of the way, Iraq became a nation where one predominant racial group held all the seats of power. It is disturbingly similar to the Phoenix Program in Vietnam. More so, it smacks of the pre-civil rights America that has (thankfully) been relegated to the annals of history.
So, yeah, if you want to dial back the calendar of progress, then the surge was wildly successful. I guess, in the minds of out-of-touch conservatives, this is the recipe for success in Iraq: Sunni refugees fleeing their homeland en masse, an increase in death among Sunnis, and the creation of a one-party system based on ethnicity.
Silly me. I thought we were spreading democracy, not totalitarianism.

aw geez oracle …
Sotomayor had 5 cases reviewed by the Supreme Court and 3 were overturned. So, yeah, 60% of cases reviewed by the SC were overturned.
But let’s not mention that she handed down over 150 rulings that were not reviewed. And let’s not mention that the SC usually selects cases because their is a high likelihood of overturning them.
There’s no competency issue here. The only problem here is that people are willfully distorting the record.

“Latina female justice”… isn’t that what Sotomayor is all about? Is that what we want on the Supreme Court - a justice that believes gender and ethnicity should be considered before rendering a judgement? Because that’s what she stands for. She has said as much many times over the years and her quick dismissal of the firefighters’ claims of discrimination in the New Haven case confirms it.
Even justice Ginsberg in her dissent in that case admitted that Sotomayor’s and the other two judges on the 2nd circuit were irresponsibly too dismissive of that case.
The reason she was so dismissive, of course, is because she’s obsessed with the idea that race should play a role in legal decisions. Because of that, she didn’t see the need to take a close look at the New Haven test to see if that test was fair and job related. In her race-bloated thinking if a test results in no blacks doing well, that is evidence on the face of it that the test was biased toward whites.
This kind of race-conscious salami slicing is wrong, plain and simple. We cannot make up for hundreds of years of slavery and Jim Crow laws by spending the next hundreds of years discriminating against white people. The way to become a colorblind society is to BE a colorblind society no matter what the racial history of the country.

The fact is, farleftside, when Bush left office, the national debt was approximately a half a trilliion dollars after 8 years in office, after a tech stock meltdown, after a horrendous terrorist attack, and after a war to free an entire nation from a murderous oppressor, and after instituting TARP (the funds of which have been misdirected by Obamination’s boys).
Just 5 months into Obamination’s reign, the deficit now stands at 2trillion dollars. Imagine what it will be when His Majesty gets his healthcare plan in place, and we’re paying the price for the Cap and Trade Fiasco, and all of the bailouts and when tax revenues wane due to doubledigit unemployment. Those are the facts, farleftside, as reported by the GAO–for liberals, that stands for the Government Accounting Office, which is charged with following the money. Obaminations deficit is greater than all previous deficits of all previous presidents, COMBINED–after just 5 months in office. Our credit rating world wide is so low that even China isn’t buying anymore!
That is a fact, also reported by the GAO. God forbid that the Obamination ever gets his hands on the GAO or we will never know what financial disasters lay ahead.
And, slug-queen, the most listened to talk show host in the country for 20 yrs and counting and throw in a $200M contract–I wish I had that kind of popularity rating! Air-America (the liberal radio network that was going to wipe Rush, Beck, Savage, and the rest of those evil right wingers off the air–Oh, that’s right–it went bankrupt) would love to have had Rush’s lowest popularity rating. One more thing, farleftside, that you and other liberals fail to mention: despite Bush’s low popularity ratings throughout his presidency, the Pelosi-Reid led, liberal Congress’s ratings were half of Bush’s.
The problem with liberals, farleftside, is that they should get their information from someplace other than MoveOn.org or the Keith Olberman show.

Re: I got news for you my little chum:
IT GETS HOT IN TEXAS IN THE SUMMER!
Why TX? Well Duh (or W) lives in Texas unless he’s avoiding the heat by hanging out at the family estate near Kennebunkport, Maine. Try living in Houston without air conditioning (swamp coolers function in low humidity).
“…my little chum” - now that’s creepy! Unless your referring to chum as fish bait. That would make sense since you seem reactionary in your responses…& easy to bait!

MatthewJB - no actually racism is not, Liberals just want everyone to believe it is. And hey, if they say it enough it becomes true. Keep telling yourself and your liberal friends “Only whites are racists, only whites are racists”, maybe if you click your heals together it will come true. Worked for Dorothy.
