    First comment!!!!

No malicious words for anyone here, but if I actually saw Mr. Obama hopping around like that I would laugh a little.

At long last the needs the people of this nation will be addressed. The theft and destruction of the last eight years will be halted. Now if only we could try those who clearly were traitors and war criminals, the defilers of the constitution, that dick cheney and his little hand puppet, georgie.

I wonder how much the average American, let alone the richies , would have to pay to get Government to take care of all those problems in Obama’s little bubble there…Let’s see we do not have any money…But freedom and “a government of by and for the people” has always been a thorn in the side of the intellectual elites and ruling classes… Free-will, that stumbling block for all tyrants. Yep, slavery - de facto slavery - thats what Libs want , before you even breathe you’ll have to ask the Committee for permission.

I like how Libs never solve the problems they say the other side is handling wrong when it becomes their time to do so (wasteful spending, poor and the homeless, failing schools, drugs and crime, procurement corruption) It’s SHOW-TIME Libs, time for action, not blather!

satipera, So, using your logic, having no defense would cause Iran and NK to stop their programs? That makes great sense. NOT! We outspent the Soviets and it worked.

FLS, The Bush 700 billion seems like small change compared to what BHO is spending. Typical liberal, “Bush spending bad”, “Obama spending good”.

SHUT UP about Bush! My goodness how long are you going to beat that dead horse. You liberals are the sorest losers in the world!!!!!!!!! I recall after Bush getting in office and I tried to post something that was idiot Bills fault liberals jumped me saying he is gone, leave it alone. Why can’t you losers take your own kinds advice?
also that 700 billion you are taking about was baked by MORE democrats then republicans you idiot! DO research before making yourself look stupid, oops, too late.
    satipera

Mark T.: You know, they have very effective drugs now to treat your Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Try this: See if you can go an entire week without bringing up abortion. Think you can do that? Give it a try.

All this shouting? I emphasized 4 words, “shut up”, “more”, and “do”. How is this alot of shouting?
    MatthewJB
    “I still read his/her comments”
Me being “his”, to clear the air there. You know if I knocked people for grammar it would be a non-stop insult fest. I am not above that, I just choose not to go there. I know we as humans may not have perfect grammar or spelling, so if you do not understand something or if I miss spell something let me know and I will learn from it and make it easier for your perfection to understand. When people can not find something real to bring up on someone they resort in to insulting there English or even spelling.
    pschearer
Maybe Mark would take the challenge “if” farleft would go a week with out bring up “Bush did it”.

Having the right to abortion is like having the right to guns. Use with caution and discrimination.

Guns: hunting, self defense and targets.

Abortion: Rape, Where a birth may kill or severely damage the mother. Possibly where gross birth defects are detected prior to birth.

Abortion, like guns that are used recklessly or with bad intent is where the trouble starts. My two and a half cents worth.

Gweedo Murray - Well said and I further think that those against guns and freedom of choice should be DENIED the use of either for self defense or preservation of their lives since it’s THEIR CHOICE.

Farleftside, regarding the banking crisis, Republicians were raising a red flag and questioning the bubble only to be stopped by the “economic experts” Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, and Maxine Walters. Banks were forced to lend money to people who not qualified to borrow money for a toaster let alone a home.

Yes I know, and I was emphasizing those words (shouting) My point was it was 4 different words. Not like I did a whole sentence even. As well, sense the shouting in the first place was not directed at you either time, don’t read it is it makes you mad. I have to read all comments by the massive liberal farleftside and his vulgar slams at Bush, so, YOU CAN READ MY SHOUTING!
maybe my next post will be a very calm, unlike me, CAPS on post. :o)
Have a wonderful day, I am trying, but it is a remarkably cold for a “global warming” day in April.

Gweedo, agree with your point of view. Guns are not the cause of crime anymore than cameras are the cause of pornography or match boxes the cause of arson.

    @FLS:
We have drug laws, but drug users manage to get drugs. It’s the same with gun control. People who intend to shoot up will get guns regardless of the laws you put around.

The only thing gun control does is disarm law abiding citizens. And I know you are a sceptic and all, but request you to check out the statistics. 95% of weapons used in crimes are illegal.

And going by your logic, camera companies should be shut down and people should not be allowed to own cameras, because, horror of horrors, bad people with cameras are responsible for pornography.

Ah, the paradise of liberal logic.

  22. attyush

    attyush said, 7 months ago

I know. The reason I called it “paradise of liberal logic” is because a lot of liberals believe that any problem will go away with political posturing and regulations.

    Guns kill I see…
So do cars (heard about any 30 cars piles ups before?), car bombs (better get rid of fertilizer, Oklahoma ring any bells?), and knives too (maybe not 20-30 people people a few could be killed easy). Did you also know that if there were no guns crimes rates double, triple and even quadruple in some places (usually larger cities with already high crime rates, check out Australia). And you insult a conservatives logic, at least WE (satipera I had to emphasize the word, sorry) have logic.
    attyush
Nice points, never heard the camera one before! I heard if guns kills people, forks make people fat.

I don’t know how you concluded that producing “enough” nuclear warheads is going to be cheap, maybe so. I agree with you that the Missile Defense systems are at its infancy despite the $100 Bn or so that has been spent on it. So grant you that it is “ineffective” (I prefer to call it “limited”) and “expensive”.

However, I believe you have to look at this cost and compare it with the reconstruction cost after a nuclear attack. So my gut says that it makes sense to go for this research. I know it will be quite some time before it is anywhere near perfect. But we would never know unless we try…right?

The cartoon makes the point that Obama’s scattershot approach of trying to do everything at once puts in jeopardy his chances of solving the most important problem he’s facing - the banking crisis.

Yes, all of these problems - healthcare, energy, education reform etc., are interrelated, but by pushing all of them forward at the same time, he invites a blurring of focus, a diffusion of political energy that does not bode well for an intelligent well-thought-out discussion of these initiatives which could well result in badly formulted laws and regulations that will cause more headaches than solutions.

Would he be better served taking them more or less one at a time? Or is the window of opportunity for passage of many of these programs only open here at the beginning of his tenure, a window that will slam shut six months or a year from now? Obviously, the Obamians believe the time to strike is now.

But the history of political infighting suggests the price you pay for such an approach is hastily-crafted, sloppy legislation and a metastasizing array of unforseen consequences. And will one of those consequences be the urgent problem of the banking crisis receiving less attention than it demands?
