The murdering war criminal that is little georgie, has indeed made it necessary to remain there. His insane attempt to enact the pnac doctrine has assured that thousands more Americans will die and be maimed.

An interesting concept: How far can transitory politics go in destroying a military mission and endangering the lives of the troops caught in the middle? How does it affect morale? What I’ve heard in the last six-plus years used to qualify as Treason and un-Patriotic acts in a time of war. FDR would have put some of the Libs in jail… And this juxtaposition of Obama’s rhetoric coming-back to undermine our troops and their mission is a good example of that kind of reckless speech. If the Iraq War is un-fair bring the troops home…delaying the outcome wont make it any more fair…That is - if that is what Obama and the Dems wanted in the first place…

The “quote real war on terrorism unquote” should have been against Iran in the first place, with Saudi Arabia a close second.

And now that we are succumbing to a nuclear-armed Ahmadinejad, we may finally get our chance to fight the right war–but at what cost? Tel Aviv or Trenton? Haifa or Hartford?

Remember, the Soviets could be dealt with because they didn’t want to die. You can’t say that about Muslim terrorists.

You liberals LOVE to say, show proof before spouting off your mouth. So buddy, were is your war criminal proof??? You do not have any, he is NOT a war criminal like you’d love him to be. So you can understand what a war criminal is. Lets see, first thing you must do to make yourself a war criminal is do something illegal. Lets see if any of these fit.
Did he fill mass graves with dead innocent people? NO.
Did he go in to a peaceful country and take over? NO!
Did he use illegal weapons to destroy the enemy? Nope, not this either.
Lets list a few things he did do.
He DID go in to a dictatorship run by someone who clearly wanted our country dead and reformed it.
He removed this dictator from power, this dictator DID have and USE WMD’s several times in the past, but seem to conveniently get rid of them sometime between the 1st UN resolution and 23rd.
He sent a message to all that we are the USA do not mess with us. Which must have worked cause no other attacked followed the Anthrax attack on our country.
Which may not have had anything to do with 9-11.
He fought a cowardly enemy that dressed as civilians using civilians as shields and we still SAFELY kicked their butts.
I know you loose sleep every night because this “war criminal” is running free, but I hope you can get past this and realize Bush was right and fair and just in taking out Saddam.

Satipera, there is no double standard here at all. Free countries have a right to any necessary means to defend themselves; tyrannies have no such right.

By your argument the Nazis and Japanese in WWII would have had a right to nukes. That is what cultural and ethical relativism leads to.

A simple parallel: the gun in the hand of the bank robber is immoral, the gun in the hand of the bank guard is moral. It’s not a DOUBLE standard; it’s a STANDARD.

(But I suspect you are simply against guns and nukes indiscriminately, but that is another discussion.)

The Great BO cannot bring himself to address our wonderful military as victorious, so far, thereby giving credit to their Commander-in-Chief. And the Great BO and his useful idiots speak of their patriotism.
Every boot on the ground there was a volunteer; not one conscript. Iraq is now the shining city on the hill, an example to emulate, if they can keep it. Without the despot Hussein, the infection is nearer being healed.

I believe I have asked you not to bring that non-sense up again. If you do I will ignore you. We bombed Japan because they gave us no choice. They trained 8 yr old boys to attack marines on the invasion day with pointed sticks. They had women believing marines had to kill their own parents to become a marine. They were ruthless and the claims of 1,000,000 US GI’s dead on that invasion from a ruthless enemy caused a DEMOCRAT to drop that bomb. I believe he did not want to but knew there was no other choice. FYI a 3rd bomb was ready, but fortunately NEVER dropped (guess where the destination would have been). As well this bomb you are talking about ENDED the greatest war the world has ever faced. My dad would have probably been 1 of the 1,000,000 dead too. Like what did Bush do that you believe? 1 more thing, we have nukes and Israel too, because we are peace keepers. We are a super power and keep that because we do not send civilian airliners in to buildings on other countries. Hey, why not ask, why does England have nukes? Why not give your nukes to our enemies and see how fast London is missing. They would not hesitate to use them, WE DO. As I said the DEMOCRAT that gave the OK hated it, but they gave us no way out. READ ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!

    I said:

So yes I know that, but my point was this was the LAST attack on the US and it came about a month AFTER 9-11.

We have done our very best over the year to not kill civilians in war, yes it happens, but we do our best to keep it from happening. WWII was justified due to the nature of the enemy. My point to say he was a democrat was because these people do there very best to stay out of war and when in war do the best to make us look like chickens. My point to say he was a democrat was to show that sometimes you have to step up and play no matter the outcome. I believe 2 cities destroyed made them stop fighting was worth all the dead civilians that would have been killed 1 way or another anyway. I hate see the stories of what happened in Japan, it is heart breaking but they did ask for something and they got it.
Other point, how in the world can you honestly think that Israel’s land belongs to someone else? In that ignorant belief does the USA belong to someone else? I mean with a thought process like yours, you could think that the land belongs to England, from that is was you dirty English that took it from the Indians. How does that fit? You loose so the land is NOT yours anymore. Be good losers like England, or even the Indians. If anyone should be ticked and fighting someone it is the Indians, not only took there land we retook their land over and over. ! last thing, when was the last time those Nuke having Israelites blew up a city with one? Never?

Yes we did, I believe, but 1st that was not Bush and 2nd I am sure the person responsible did it with good intention and quickly found out it was wrong. We are a peacekeeper and a superpower, but we are also human and have the ability to make a mistake.
    satipera
I forgot who I was talking to. You are the one that would let 1,000’s die to keep from torturing 1 that could save them all. You don’t mind large numbers of death as long as you don’t have to hurt anyone or (as I see now) as long as it is legal.

Farleft and away. I really don’t know why you are whining this time. First as you said it is a cartoon. Second as some one on the right, Obama sending more troops to Afghanistan is the right thing to do. Third it makes Bush look bad, someone else finishing his job. But if you really want something to cry about:
Fundamentals of Our Economy Are Strong: McCain Sept 15 2008. What Economy are you talking about? Obama Sept 15, 2008. Fundamentally Sound Aspects of the Economy. Obama March 13 2009. It only took Obama 6 months to say McCain was right.

Actually, it was an attempt to exercise influence in a part of the world where the people train their young men to hate America and kill all non-Muslims and every once in a while get to fly planes into major landmarks in a vain attempt to manipulate and exert power over people and cultures they dislike.

    Scenario: 1.You are President.
2.You have to respond to 9/11
3.You can try an un-winnable (at the time) militarily and politically (at-home and abroad) war with Iran or with touchstones like Syria and Saudi Arabia. Or you can de-throne a defiant, U.N. sanction-despising despot and gain strategic control of valuable resources, assets, and communications.
So what would you Johnny-come-lately Sand-Pipers do?

    satipera says:
…………Patriotism is like alcohol, used responsibly it is fine. Used too much and it leads to badly impaired judgement and terrible hangovers.
    AMEN
(just an opinion) Bush’s flawed choice, (and spins of questionable facts as a basis which led into) the assault on Iraq created a situation where, yes, we will be tied up, bogged down for the next 50 years, squandering more valuable resources and draining our military strength to the point where we are vulnerable to an attack from someone like, say, Zambonia. And he will swagger thru history saying “my my, look at what a mess the next regime made of my fine war.

When he started this “war” in Iraq, I kept hearing from Iranians that they wee terrified we would roll on into Iran. That had no reason to fear that, Bush was not smart enough to recognize the real threats.
As far as every foot soldier in Iraq being there on a purely volunteer basis; well that sounds good on paper but what most of them volunteered for wasw a part time job playing soldier, collecting nice benefits and getting money for advanced education, oh yeh, some of them like the impressive uniform and the shiny bars also. They did not ever have going to battle in mind, nor were they even remotely close to being trained for such. I am not panning them, I have utmost respect for them doing the best they can, even on their 3rd and 4th tours of Hell. the target of my wrath is our very government (ALL partisan factors, not just dems or pubs,0 which thought this system is good miltary practice. What we have now are people surviving such horrendous wounds and damages that could not even have been imagined as survivable even in Viet Nam, as well as suicides at an unheard of rate. And speaking of suicides, I have to wonder how many of them, especially on the female side are really suicide. footnote; yes i know this is marginally coherent, and hard to comprehend but that is the way looking at this war thru the eyes of Viet Nam has affected me. so don’t bother with the comments about being borderline intelligent or incoherent and all that, In fact, don’t even bother responding to it. Do something different for a change. Engage your brain long and thoroughly and really think about what the F is going on in this country today and quit treating all this like a tennis match and strutting around with yer gddm “talking points” and yer my party is superior to yours attitudes.
