Poor, poor, sarah. Doomed to be hoisted by her own petard, if she would just keep her mouth shut, but no, that would be the intelligent thing to do.

With Palin she gives the press ample opportunity as it’s hard to find a more dim witted politician.

For having such a low opinion of the cartoonist, you guys sure seem to have a hard time starting your day without him.

Let’s see now, Sarah Palin took on a corrupt incumbent governor of her own party and beat him like a rented mule in the primary, then took on a popular two-term Democrat former governor – at the time the most popular Democrat in the state – and beat him like a rented mule in the general election. She still enjoys higher approval ratings at home than Barack 0bama has in the press corps.

If you ask me, and nobody did, she’s not the dimwit. But there are at least three of them in this thread.

If Sarah Palin is so dense and stupid, why do liberals spend so much time and energy beating this dimwitted horse to death?

Could it be she represents everything they can’t stand? She evokes the pioneer woman who rode in a covered wagon across this country, who could hunt and dress a moose, raise large, healthy familes, take pride in their femininity, didn’t take bleeep from their husbands, were independent of spirit and loaded with common sense.

On top of that, she’s a babe, married to a good-looking stud, wears skirts and dresses instead of pants, likes high-heeled shoes, and exudes a sexy aura that says “I’m enjoying life!”… and she’s a conservative! A beautiful, sexy conservative! Oh horrors! This must be stopped!

And she chose to give birth to a Down’s Syndrome baby rather than do what a typical red-blooded feminist would do - abort it. Oh what gall!

Sure, she’s not deeply conversant in international issues and diplomacy. So what? Give her a few years, she’ll learn and she’ll be fine.

Sorry libs, Sarah Palin, though not a graduate of Wellesley or Harvard, is an intelligent, loving, nurturing mother who is extremely likable and, as such, she touches millions of down-to-earth people in a way that Hillary, Barbra Streisand, or Susan Sarandon and all the left and right coast snobs never will.

Sarah Palin is solid, and the liberals, down deep, know it.

i first heard about “you know you know” from the press. and apparently sarah was too busy beating rented mules to teach her daughter about birth control. oops, i forgot, just say no is all the birth control a child needs to know.

Farleftside, I am sorry, but your need to marginalize everything one mans says shows you are the kind we need to be afraid of in this world. This man has a voice so you want to belittle him only because he disagrees with you. You are the first guy here every day what dose that say about you. You even called this strip reportage; it isn’t it is one man’s opinion, not the final word of conservatism. I have been to third world countries, dictators will always try to marginalize others the way you do Moore. Have you ever thought what you would do if you had the power to take away someone’s freedom of speech, what you would do. I believe you would use that power.

I watched Sarah Palin’s interview with John Ziegler. I find it amazing she can walk around with that giant chip she has on her shoulder.
    She screams class warfare
Isn’t that what the left is supposed to be guilty of?
As for Caroline Kennedy, she is getting a harder time from the left than the right.
She has been compared to a Princess, a little girl and monkey. This is a 50 year-old lawyer and Constitutional scholar.
As a New Yorker I know the work she has done on behalf of the schools. And the liberal media can’t let go of her habit of saying “you know.”

After all most Americans did not live in the ‘real America.”
We did not root for our country.

    Tiny,

Nobody wants their unwed teen-age daughter to get pregnant, and we all hope that we brought up our children with the morals and common sense to make the right decision.
Obama’s mother married his father when she was 2 months pregnant.
I will not say anything either critical or supportive Sarah Palin or her daughter regarding the birth of Bristol’s baby because it is a private family. Anyone of us could be in this situation.
Obama would not be around today if she had access to birth control but the South would have won the Civil War if Robert E Lee had not invaded Gettysburg. History and life does not function on what ifs.

I think or at least I hope you can tell I have respect for you. I do not hardly agree with you, but I can respect you. There are a few on here that post that I can not. I do agree it is a private family matter, but the way the media attack dogs went after her they forgot about their own man in the same situation. Or flat out did not care cause they know nobody will call it out. Just drives me nuts that people will accuse her of being unfit cause she has a 17 yr old unwed pregnant daughter. When Obama momma was the same. So in this case, from that point of view they should find him, as well, unfit. But do not.

It doesn’t matter which side you are on, women in politics are always held to a different standard.Let me qualify that to All women. Men are Leaders, women are Arrogant, men are Assertive, women are Pushy, a man can cry on TV when he retires as a quarteback from the NFL, but a women crying on TV is hysterical or PMS… etc etc Ad Nauseum…

Haufa Mischt, pretty much covers it!!!

    Tiny,
I respect you and anyone else who is willing to engage in an intelligent debate. It is the only reason I post on SOTU.

I find Carl Moore to be a talentless hack whose mendacity has no boundaries.

A candidate, conservative or liberal, cannot be held responsible for the actions of their parents.
I personally believe you are grabbing at straws when you say the media would have found conservative unfit because his mother became pregnant out of wedlock.
I believe the media has become a convenient scapegoat for conservatives who still cannot accept the results of the elections.
The public enthusiasm was not driven by the media’s bias. The media’s bias was driven by the public enthusiasm.
The media was behind the curve. Much of the media did not realize
the Obama phenomenon until it became apparent that Obama was going to win Iowa.

Republicans, please, PLEASE continue to rely on Palin as the savior of your ideology, OK? The longer an incompetent corrupt dogmatic dullard is the best and brightest you guys have to offer, the more America will come to realize Neoconservatism is not only marginalized, but dead, and the sooner we can actually get to work on solving the economic and foreigh policy problems created and exacerbated by Randianism, Friedmanism, and the Bush Doctrine.

My first reaction to Palin was; Ha-Cha maybe I am a conservative! OK, I’m, a 46 year old single man so my bias was biological. Regardless, I wanted to like her. I was hoping she was what McCain needed even though I was planning to vote Obama. I was open minded enough at that point to be swayed.
    Then she started campaigning.
Towards the end of the campaign I could watch McCains’ speeches, but when Palin came on, I had to change the channel. I know it’s the VP candidates’ job to play attack dog, but I just lost respect for her the more she spoke.
I liked McCain in 2000, but he wasn’t the same man in 2008. By election day I could not in good conscience do anything but to cast my vote to insure that pair did not win.

McCain realized he had to something to energize his run for The Whitehouse when he selected Govenor Palin as his running mate. Then his handlers did their best to muzzle her. Sarah Palin has more executive experience than Biden, McCain, and yes, even Obama combined. What the GOP needs to realize is that when a candidate runs as a conservative they usually win. Sadly too many candidates want to be liked and try to go out of their way to so.

  21. leftwingpatriot

    leftwingpatriot said, 10 months ago

This election was not for the Republican’s to win. They were sailing against the wind. The economy was tanking, an unpopular sitting president, and the nation just wanted change.
American political cycles have 30 year runs historically. We are seeing the end of rightist period.

I should clear it up by saying this is 1 of the many silly things they brought up against her. I do not agree with you about the media and it is defiantly not unwilling to accept the election results. I see it all the time, all year around especially at election times. It was bad during the 2000 election and worse during the 2004 election and this time was no different the last. I will not say worse this time, but just as bad. And conservatives won both of those. As well, I really don’t see this as the end of the rightist. McCain was a horrifying pick for the GOP and the election proved it. I think it should have been Fred up there, not McCain (after all he is a liberal Republican).

“At least Bristol’s man is not a Muslim”. So, tinytool, what is wrong with being a Muslim? He could be worse. He could be one of those christians who seek to impose their failed mythology on others, one of those who squawk loudly about others’ lives, while committing the very same things if not worse. Popularity does not denote intelligence and having this woman, who has proven herself to be the intellectual equal to little georgie, so close to leading this country is extremely frightening to those who are capable of rational thought. We have had eight years of rule by a pupppet, we do not need any more.

wnd…you must understand that any religion that these people don’t respect is considered paganism. apparently there are some people that god talks directly to, sucks to be me, i’m not one of them. i’m so silly that i actually respect other religions, and a person’s right to believe what they want. christians really should check the bible about loving thy fellow man, not depending on if you agree with them or not.
dee…if your name was famous would you put your child into a public school??? these private schools have huge security teams on site because these kids are targets for kidnapping..george bush defended the government reaction to katrina today…tell that to the people of new orleans
