Is this before, or after they are sent back? Illegal immigration should be cracked down on, if for no other reason than natl. security. How easy is it for a mexican gang, drug cartel, or mid-east terrorist cell to get in the U.S., and have another attack? If that doesnt do it, then how about the fact that its illegal, they should be sent back from where they came, instead of being given jobs. With the Native Americans, because it will come up at some point anyway, there were no borders, hence no immigration, legal or otherwise. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for immigration, as long as its legal.

Aliens, mexican gangs, drug cartels, mid-east terrorists, etc. should all be given free access to the U.S. along with social security payments, welfare, and food stamps until they do something illegal. And in that case they should receive the best legal defense possible from the taxpayers, regardless of the cost.

Otherwise, it’s nothing but vicious racism.

The fact is, Mexico keeps military troops stationed along their southern border and stringently enforces their own immigration laws. Captured illegals are typically treated with a callous brutality which would be the subject of multi-million-dollar lawsuits in our country.

I’ve seen people make this point before, on the floor of Congress during hearings on illegal immigration (while watching C-SPAN), and yet our corrupt politicians just yawn and ignore it.

To the Demoncrat Party especially, illegal aliens = VOTERS. :/

    Old joke but
Why does Mexico have such a hard time placing at the Olympics? Because those who can run jump or swim are in the USA.
Why is the place a dump and people will risk a lot to get to the USA?
Because those who work hard and have any get up and go to fix there own country are in the USA.
I mean come on, there is a line item in the National budget for money sent back to Mexico from the USA.

I can’t believe this. No one really calling someone else a racist today. Only some humors sarcasm. No one getting on a long rant for there own self importance. No one commenting on everybody’s statements one by one writing a long dissertation.

The sad thing is Mexico dose give those booklets out to there own people so yea they might just give it to the Guatemalan’s.

The real point is what do we do now. Do we block off the whole U.S. Mexican border and if so I hope some of that money goes to keep guns from going south.

Simple jack my plan is two fold.

    1. If it can be grown legalize it with heavy over sight. If processed regulate it to the fullest.

    2. sour the milk. Do that by making it very hard to get a job here unless you live here. Stopping them at the border is a joke. I know border guards, they would agree. Also while you are at it give them a easy way to come here and work. Set it up down there. Give them a legal way to get a work force together and all the paper work and back ground and what not. When the job is over, they have to go back in order to get another job. Sour the milk! the only way to get the job is by a company that sets it up down there legally!

Lew, up until the mid-1960s, there were many laws that were racist, oppressing & segregating African-Americans. Indeed, when the Constitution was written, it was both a racist & sexist document, treating slaves as 3/5ths of a White person, and not permitting women the vote at all.

Laws controlling immigration come from racism & bigotry of the 1890s. Almost everyone here is part of a non-legal form of immigration. Now that we are here, we want to shut the door behind us. The worst part about so-called illegal immigration is how the American employers exploit the immigrants, denying them minimum wage, acceptable working conditions, & the benefits that would accompany such jobs if they were filled by people who were not in fear of arrest.

On another topic, I am sure all fans of Bill O’Reilly must be so proud to hear him announce that he does not care about the Constitution & that caring about the Constitution makes a person “a pinhead”: http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/282340. I am pleased to hear him state what was obvious: that O’Reilly is a hater of America.

johndh123 - I debated whether to comment or not on this subject (again). Some points I would agree with since I posted my previous comment - like “Souring The Milk” (Star Trek TNG episode comes to mind).

At the very least it would be a big part of the solution. My only criticism would be that the Cartels are now so powerful any one who tried to set up such business for say Marijuana would still have to deal with extortion. Hard to deal with some one when they have a gun at your head.

We all have already heard at some time that the Cartels out gun the cops and the Mexican Military.

    Davie:
If that is what you get fine. Go look for something like that and you will find what you are looking for. Maybe you are the one who is illiterate.

What O’Reilly has talked about plenty is that the Military tribunals are Constitutional. Every Article under the Uniform Code of Military Justice has been voted on by both Houses of Congress and signed off by the President of the United States. As someone with 20 years as a Military Police I know that for a fact. Gasp.

Then you use some short article that is clearly bias. Who is the digital journal and why do you use a three paragraph article.

Also you should be thanking God for the U.S. Constitution because it allows for a country to change with out killing a lot of people every few decades like oh say Europe.

You like to call people racist well so are you if that is what you think then you boy are bigoted against Americans.

When you called yourself Satipera you said plenty even called President Obama a N**er. Yea I know you were doing that to call some one else racist told you then I don’t care.

I know nobody here can make you think but your act hasn’t changed and you are not as smart as you think you are. You are a bitter little boy growing into a bitter old man you need to think about your attitude and go do something with you self before you end up this way for life.

And no Davie I am not attacking you I am defending my country.

David, I’m going to try and break your post down.

    1. The Constitution is in no way racist, granted, at one point in our nations history, slavery was allowed, however, because of the document you claim to be racist, treating african-americans as 3/5ths of a european-american, or anglo, whatever you wanna call us, is now outlawed. It is outlawed in the Constitution.

    2. Immigration is a good thing, however, the fact is, illegal immigration is illegal, hence the word illegal. The United States cannot give citizenship to every illegal immigrant. It is wrong, as they would get citizenship for breaking the law, and is a big screw you to those immigrants who went through the process of becoming a legal citizen.

    3. Harleyquinn has a good idea in “souring the milk” make it so that to get a job here, you must be a citizen. Stronger borders make it harder for drug dealers to get into our nation. I dont know about you, but I dont want the Mexican drug war spilling into our streets here in the U.S.

Same Old Name Calling Posts - at least do some research about the history of California - say about 1850 & the discovery of Gold & President Filmore’s appropriation of the Mexican Territory now known as California.

    “Minorities During the Gold Rush”

“…The anti-foreigner sentiment of the state led to the dramatic success of the American or “Know Nothing” Party in the state election of 1855, where Know Nothing candidate James Neely Johnson, only 26 years old, was elected governor, and the Know Nothings gained impressive majorities in both houses of the legislature.

The American Party, which enjoyed short-lived success nationwide in the 1850s, was in most parts of the country a response to the influx of Catholic immigrants in the 1840s and 1850s.

Most Know Nothings emphasized the need to protect the jobs and votes of native born protestant Americans. In California, however, nativity and religions were secondary concerns of the American Party, which focused its tract against racial minorities.

However, once elected, the Know Nothings carried out no comprehensive program. Johnson proved unable to deal with the real problems California faced, floundering before the Vigilance Committees.

The Know Nothing Party eventually died out in California, with most of its members absorbed into the freshly formed Republican Party.

The anti-Oriental sentiment of the Know Nothings remained a constant in California politics for another century….”

Personally - I think the “Know Nothings Party” is alive & flourishing today - Tea Baggers,,,

So how would making it legal help the cartel? It would under cut profits. It would also cut down on a lot of border crossing. Shoot some of them cartels might find it possible to go legit.
Of course it is not that easy. I also think if it where legal there should be a band on any kind of advertisement. Just a black and white box with the name drug info and maybe a few tag lines. That box being behind a counter with as strong if not stronger measures in the sale then alcohol. Oh and I still want to put a clause in that if I catch you selling it to my kids i get to knee cap you.
Hey were is that idiot who was in here crying that we were calling them illegal? He wanted to call them un legal or something. .

  26. DavidDow

DavidDow said, about 4 hours ago

Yes, Mrob., we have amended the racism & sexism out of the Constitution along with making some important laws to help eradicate half a millennium of racism & sexism. Lew expressed the idea that enforcing laws canNOT be racist—and it certainly can. The immigration laws are founded on bigotry, when Northern European-Americans decided that they wanted to limit the number of Chinese, Greek, Italian, Jewish, & Irish immigrants. Now, we use immigration laws against Mexicans & Latin-Americans. It is still bigotry, and enforcing such laws is still enforcing bigotry. This isn’t about citizenship. This is about freedom of movement, sharing the wealth, and helping the “least of these”, as Yeshua preached (you go to church, right?).

Harley’s rule wouldn’t work. There are thousands of immigrants doing important & indispensable work in the U.S. without being citizens.

In re drug wars: The U.S. buyers create the Mexican drug war. Legalize marijuana, and you diminish the need for other drugs. In addition, you separate dealing in marijuana from dealings in other drugs. Gangs deal in drugs when they are stuck in slums & can’t find work. Accept immigrants & find them jobs, and they will not join gangs. Working people do not join gangs. Finally, there is no evidence that strict anti-Mexican immigration policies stop any drug battles from entering the U.S.

Thanks, GJ, for the history lesson. I appreciate your research, although I wish that it occasionally meant opening a book.

Thanks, Mrob., for reply to my remark. I thought, for a while, that no one had read it.

  27. mroberts88

mroberts88 said, about 4 hours ago

David, honestly, I rarely, if ever, go to church. We are in a war against terrorists, if we allow anyone and everyone to enter our borders, we run a greater risk of allowing terrorists into our nation, which would lead to another attack.

Anti immigration policies may not stop drug battles from spilling into our streets, however, if we were to have soldiers stationed at the border, that probably would.

If a legal immigrant wants to find a job, good for them, if a gang banger wants to give up the life, go straight, I’ll help them find a job as much as I can.

David, the internet has made it possible to look anything up, without a book. I really think its doing more harm than good for Americans. I read every remark, and respond if there is something I can talk about.
