    First frame – what the what what … going to assume its supposed to be some sort of Scandinavian (or in lineage of :p), but it looks like a mix of things tbh.

    Kind of like foreign languages in Hollywood films … usually the wrong syntax, wrong language or utter gibberish.

    To confuse the time-line even further, how about she rides a Harley Fatboy?

    I believe Lady Godiva was actually and Anglo-Saxon from what is now known as the English Midlands. Seeing as the English Language is a derivative of German, it is possible that the panels use a from of ancient English appropriate for the 13th century in which Lady Godiva existed.

    My Anglo-Saxon is rusty (and west-saxon) but my guess is: “Lady Godiva, should you ride the horse?” (or “do you intend to”) “I shall, to overcome my Lord’s greed”.

    My ex-Lady is a Rare Book Master (Got her Masters at UofM) and can read Old English, to any speaker of modern English it is essentially a foreign language.

    Yes, he would come across someone undressed for the occasion.

    Just the spelling alone can send people screaming from the room deracinating themselves in the process.

    Godiva wasn’t about sex so much as women’s rights.

    This is one of several ways an artist can show nudity without really showing anything at all.

    @Night-Gaunt49

    Godiva stood up against her husbands taxes; she was concerned with human rights as well.

    There was a Charmed episode on that. History changed when Godiva can’t make the famous ride. Present time USA women are veiled and kept not much different from the hard line Muslims do. As women use to be kept under hard line Christian rule.
