Then the faces would be on the first leaves, wouldn’t they?

    Toasting pumpkin seeds is easy.

Wash them thoroughly under running lukewarm tap water and put them on paper towels or clean tea towels to rid the surfaces of water.

Then spread them evenly on a cookie sheet or metal tray, and toast them beginning at 250 degrees to 275 degrees for about an hour to dry them thoroughly. To prevent sticking, shake them every once in a while.

Turn on the broiler to brown them lightly, but keep an eye on them so they don’t char.

    After cooling,
salt them (or not). Store them in a lidded jar or cookie tin.

The image inscribed through the seed coat will be seen on the cotyledons, or seed leaves. The picture above is a seedling from a laser-inscribed bean; squash seed cotyledons look more like oval leaves.

How about putting a little olive oil on them before toasting the seeds?

Is that how we all got our faces?

    Great comic, despite the literalists.

The heck with the leaves theory. In MY reality, the faces are on the pumpkins. I agree Perkycat, great comic

Just like magick. What you carve on one part of the plant shows up in another.
