    When you are in Quebec and want meat pies ask for “tourtières” ( named after na extinct animal, says it all) but if you are in Acadian New-Brunswick and want those, ask for “pâtés”.

    When I was a kid, the part nobody liked to eat was the crust, so we fed it to the cats or dogs. Growing up, it seemed like adding insult to injury to feed a carnivore the only part of a meat dish that didn’t contain any meat.
