We have turkey buzzards here in WI. They are gastly ugly, but I love watching them soar!

    Buzzard – 0, Stinky’s stink – 1

Snow agrees. Buzzards look better from a distance.

I had the privledge decades ago to touch Topa Topa, at the time the only California Condor in captivity. His bare face was soooo soft and colorful! Yes, they are not as handsome as an eagle but that bare neck allows them to dig deep into carcasses and really clean up.

I’m sure the lack of feathers around their head and neck does come in handy. Not really the greatest look, but useful.

Vulture: a scavenger(I doubt it’s a scavenger, I dunno)who likes to eat dead animals. Well, was that ironic, or what?

What’s ironic is that Stinky probably smells worse alive than dead.

Yes, they are only scavengers, they do not have sharp beaks or claws for capturing and killing like birds of prey. They also are one of the few birds with a really good sense of smell.

    That says it all.

Vulture’s condor’s and the other scavengers who " clear up" are brilliantly designed for their vital purpose, but they are not pretty, unlike Snow who is beautiful and useful. I am sure he agrees. ;)

Thanks, Mountaingreenery! I think it’s safe to say Snow agrees. :)
