We have a tin roof. You remember that sound of bombs falling in the very old movies? That’s what the snow sounds like as it’s sliding down. Although we’ve been in the house for two decades, it still takes me about half the winter to get used to the sound. And then, if I’m really lucky and standing at the relevant window, a whole great sheet of snow falls off. Does wonders for the heart.
