I’m guessing that I’m the only reader of this strip who isn’t a full-throated pacifist. Cuz once you concede that you may need to employ violence sometime, you concede the need for weapons. And they don’t form out of thin air; someone has to design and manufacture them. (It’s also useful if you have better weapons than your opponents do.) Sure; Basil Zaharof was ethically challenged, but the “evil defense contractor” stereotype is about as valid as traditional racist/ethnic/sexist stereotypes are. Surely we are all past that sort of sloppy thinking these days?
