It’s been 6 long years since:
“this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal …"~~Barack Obama

Sadly, it has been nothing but a surreal tragi-comedy lead by a mediocre actor who got way more than his 15 minutes of fame.
At least to date he hasn’t been given an Oscar….

Despite last years fluke increase in sea ice (increase over the previous years not in historic terms) the oceans continue to get warmer and more acidic and sea levels are rising.
Because we are STILL escaping from the LAST ice age. The permafrost is still melting, the earth is still rebounding. Takes a long time…

“began to heal” =/= “completely healed”

For those who don’t think this is a real problem, see National Geographic on the “Great Pacific Garbage Patch” — otherwise known as the “Pacific Trash Vortex.”

Let’s just skip the cherry-picking and Obama-bashing and go to where the data was culled in the first place, when he made his comment:

At our present rate of heating the next Ice Age could be delayed by up to 100,000 years.

Between the trash, nitrogen runoff creating oxygen dead zones, and acidification from CO2 absorption the oceans are sick and getting sicker.

THIS is why Obama must be stopped; we must continue the planet’s destruction just to prove him wrong.

Are you implying that decades of municipal trash being carelessly dumped in the oceans should have been magically cleaned up by now just because a President you hold a partisan grudge against made a speach?

The area 1,600 miles from the coast is a storm laden area limiting the time they can search. No ships with mini-subs or submersibles will go out there just yet.
