Check out Cheney, Rumsfeld, and the actions of the PNAC in the 1970’s, as a “beginning” Cheney following his master.

Radish we found two things we agree on. NSA & Marvin the Martian.

Per the White House’s Panel (reported by NBC News on December 20), NSA policies have never stopped a terrorist attack.

What an asinine statement. Excuse me, but the Cheney-Bush administration is calling. They want their propaganda back.

Right on, Michael! The Fourth Estate has ceased to function for years now and things have only gotten worse since the MSM has been Murdochized, but I think Digby over at Hullabaloo says it best:

“I know I’m sounding very shrill and resentful, but I can’t help it when I hear so-called intellectuals like Fareed Zakaria today on his show suddenly waking up to fact that the GOP is a bunch of reactionary fanatics - and selling it like it’s some kind of new thing. Might I just point out that he has been an enabler of this bunch of nuts for years?
The reactionary right has been in the drivers seat of the GOP for some time now, impeaching presidents, stealing elections, starting wars against countries that didn’t attack us. Demagogueing national security, talking about Social Security and Medicare as if they are Stalinist gulags and basically living in an alternate universe in which those who don’t agree with them are enemy combatants is who they have been for years. And up until now, Fareed Zakaria and his ilk have been clutching their pearls over some delusional threat from the left .
And by doing that, they have been instrumental in the rise of the revanchist right wing. They should take a good look in the mirror before they start pronouncing judgment on it - it’s partly their baby.”

Someone might inform CNN though, since they couldn’t wait to trot out Tom DeLay to tell us what “real” Americans think. Now that his conviction for money laundering has been overturned by a court of appeals stacked with Perry appointees, of course.

No ‘con’ ever said ‘what does it matter’
How about “it’s not a priority”? Maybe that doesn’t matter. Conservatives just keep looking for anything they can use against President Obama, and have gone stark raving nuts when their favorite meme (Benghazi) is debunked.

poked Michaelwme with “Unlike you, I don’t trust the NSA to tell the truth about anything.”

Hmm. Um.Erm. Sometimes we agree on some stuff so you won’t hear from me, but often I think you don’t really notice stuff around here and then sometimes you’ll hear from me. Like now. Well, not that we disagree (actually, we probably on the same page as regards the NSA), but your comment aimed at Michael, for instance. It tells me much gets past you. A whole lot. Like, lots. Like BIG lots. Lorry-wide lots. Whooooosh! Over your head.

It’s funny, actually. Anyway, carry on…

No, dude, I’m not talking about the NSA (did you notice I said we’re on the same page as regards the NSA?); I’m talking about stuff in general…like Michael’s “stuff”. If you’re unable to understand what I meant, well, then it’s clear you’re letting “stuff” go over your head. I apologise for being vague but I think that you’ve been on this forum long enough that I don’t think one should be pointing it out to you explicitly otherwise the “stuff” loses its edge.

Another thing that may have missed your attention: I’m not an American. Mentioning your 4th amendment is meaningless to me. Again, if you were a new commentator, fine, I wouldn’t expect you to know. But surely by now, especially since we’ve traded comments in the international sections, you would be aware of this? Your RADAR seems a tad out of date.
