    This cartoon could equally apply to the pay, benefits, and pensions our bipartisan legislators have granted themselves. And in addition to these benefits, benefits that increase with their tenure in office and follows them when they, in too many cases, leave office to further serve the donors who kept them in office as lobbyists, consultants, speakers, etc etc.
    Our Republic is now an oligarchy made up of two cannibalistic parties who, installed by monied interests, serve themselves, their donors, and their parties. Once in awhile, they do something for the electorate. But rarely.
    Respectfully,
    C.

    What we need is a 99% Party that stands up for the average American, rather than the plutocrats.
    The Democrats have gone too far to the center and the Republicans have gone so far to the right that they approach the ideologies of the Fascists in Italy (1922-1943) and the Nazis in Germany (1933-1945).
    Whatever happened to the moderate Republicans that I used to regularly encounter in the Philadelphia suburbs? These people were “like Ike.”

    Unfortunately, too many voters have been brainwashed by the right into sticking up for the ultra-rich and corporations instead of sticking up for themselves and those who stick up for the average American.
    That’s especially true here in the Hershey, PA area.

    @Respectful Troll

    Agreed. I think we should eliminate all perks from our Congress and local politicos.

    Will never happen as there are too many Dems that vote a straight party ticket.

    Typical you leave out the Republican straight voters too. Partisanship blinds you.

    You always say things like that.
    You prove my point.

    Right Pajjie. You were talking about straight ticket voters but only mentioned Democrats. So I could see you were being partisan about not listing the straight ticket Republican voting. Which you managed to just jump over without addressing it.
