Is he in Russia, Ecuador or some kind of “world tour”?

Typical conservative constitution hater. Here’s a clue: by any legal definition, Edward is not a traitor. You need to be helping a foreign power, it turns out.

He didn’t expose any great secrets, as I am sure all of our enemies know we have the technology to do surveilance. He didn’t put any troops or the country in danger, he just exposed how our complete political class was ok with all the spying and harrassing it’s own citizens. Now they are scurrying like the cockroaches they are when the light comes on.

Has he gotten to Ecuador yet? Personally I now think he is just dumb. He gave a way state secrets and admits this was his plan all along. He will never be able to come back home, may never see his family again. He will at best be living in countries that never truly trust him and may not even want him. He will be a leach on those countries and will live with less and less for the rest of his life.

Sorry I was kind of supporting the guy then he says I joined the contractor as a Network Administrator to gain secrets. My support for him is gone.

I feel it was a mistake to make such a huge story about it. If he indeed is a source of information dangerous to us, it might be more effective to go about apprehending him quietly with persistence.

The man is a patriot who served the cause of freedom and is being persecuted by the US government who intends to keep right on spying on everyone because any one of us might lead the revolution to come. It is their knowledge of their own guilt that spurs them on. All of this is in the hands of private contractors, who profit enormously by spying on the rest of us, and General Alexander who has built his own kingdom in the name of stopping unidentified terrorist plots. To those who would trade “security” (ask Boston about that) for freedom, remember who said those deserve neither.

I’m sure they need network administrators nearly everywhere.

What’s your point? If he admits that he took the job and signed his name to a non-disclosure agreement deliberately to do what he did why should I.

Also we don’t know if he has other state secrets to give. If China and Russia is allowing him to stay I say there is a better chance he has a lot to give.

I have worked in computers for a while, as a Jr. Network Admin I can get a lot, remote into all of the individual PC and servers and read every thing and copy most.

When I worked for Hospitals I could find the Narcotic inventory anytime, working for a Communication company, I can find the location of cell phone towers and the model of the radio on top. Why is that important, well a cell phone tower’s radio is a Cellular radio and so has a computer to manage all the calls going in and out at the same time. Some guy with the nerve to climb and plug a laptop in with network analyzer software can learn a lot.

For all of you who think this guy is a hero, he’s not. If he had stuck with the spying on Americans thing and blown the whistle he would have been. By his own statement, ” I had access to the full rosters of everyone working at the NSA, the entire intelligence community, and undercover assets all over the world. The locations of every station, we have what their missions are, and so forth.” If you think he won’t sell that info….

A hero he could have been. Now he is just an common traitor.

I hope he gets to a safe place. He was just doing what the constitution said was our duty if government has become too corrupt.

So, Harley, are you willing to shoot Cheney and Libby, who actually a spy, and therefore shut down a secret program that was working to destabilize Iran’s nuclear program?
